Could you please tell me if there are any adventure games that take a really long time to play. I mean ones that take like 2 or 3 days to complete.

Thanks

I can't say that I've ever finished an adventure game in less than weeks of playing, but I don't play from morning until night: I've got to go to work! frown
Are you sure you're talking about regular adventure games and not the "casual", hidden object games?

The answer is....chocolate! Who cares what the question is.....

If you're average completion times are 2-3 days you are doing well:-) (It must be costing you a fortune:-)) Depends on how many hours you are putting in of course.

Longest game I've played is is Anacapri the Dream - 50+ hours! [double or treble the usual time for a game]. Heavily using a walkthrough will shorten that time, of course. This is an adventure game and an enjoyable one too.

The longest game I have ever played is Simon the Sorcerer 3D. Even with a walkthrough and saved games from people, it will still take you probably a week, and without any saved games or a walkthrough, probably a year. It is so hard and so many puzzles.

Broken Sword 3 I thought was a long game too.

The Longest Journey took a pretty long time to complete.

I would say The Longest Journey too. Myst/Rhem/ etc. all would take me a long time to finish.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

A lot of the older Adventure games were pretty long smile

And not only was Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis long, but you could play three versions of it - Wits, Action or as a Team.

And all slightly different thumbsup

EDIT :
If you like Myst style games, the complete Uru series would keep you occupied for sure !!

Well, Grim Fandango may be my favorite game ever but it also took me forever to finish, possibly because it was my first real adventure game - which may be one of the many reasons I love it since I put so much into getting through it - but I still think it's a tough one, particularly in certain spots. (I'll bet you know the ones I'm talking about, venus.) If you haven't played it, try Grim. I imagine it will take you a while.

Black Dahlia
if you put Syberia 1 and 2 back to back, that would be pretty long!

Agree with Black Dahlia. That is a real epic - it even works with Win 7!! only on a very tiny screen through. Could change the resolution but it probably would of been very pixelated!!

The Longest Journey
The Pandora Directive, Tex Murphy
Gabriel Knight 1, 2 and 3
Myst, Uru Chronicles
Rhem 1
The Lost Crown
Culpa Innata

These are all very long adventures, and very different I should add.

Oh yeah, The Longest Journey took forever to complete. Another, which I thought was going to be a short weekend play through was Lost Horizon. No sooner than I thought I was nearing the end, it kept on going and going.

It's a game that's impossible to get stuck in, and fairly entertaining, which makes it right up my alley.

Zork Nemesis is a wonderful AND a long game.

So is The Journeyman Project 3, Legacy of Time.
(Ive played this at LEAST 6 or 7 times, maybe more.
Will never get enough)

I have played a lot of games and I am home all the time so I play straight through if I can. My choices for longest games would be :

Syberia 1 and 2
Longest Journey
Lost Horizon (one of my favs)
Black Mirror (all of them, lots of stories and stuff to click and explore)

I too enjoy long games with tons of story and lots of stuff to click and explore. It makes the game much more interesting for me.

Syberia 1 and 2.
I actually played #2 first and LOVED it.
It took me a long time cos I only played a few hours a day and with the exception of a couple of hints from GBers, I played right through!

I would say that the Longest Journey was a long journey in gameland for me.

Also - The Lost Crown was a great game to play and although it took me a while to play I didn't want it to end.

If you want to try some cartooney type games - other than the standards - So Blond was really fun to play and took a while to complete.

Myst
Tex Murphy series
Longest Journey
Grim Fandango
Zork series
The Lost Crown

All games are "longer" if you don't use a WT, of course...
