I haven't played this game yet so I can't be of any help. Did you check the forum for the game? Some folks may have discussed this puzzle there. Otherwise, hopefully someone here can explain it.

Well, I broke down and asked my g'son to do it for me.

New Problem:

What altar? Can you find it in the WT? I do have an "altar". HOG scenes get triggered by clicking on things and visiting places over again and it's hard to know where you have been. I suggest either checking the strategy guide to see if you missed looking at something in another area to trigger a new HOG for you to progress.

I do not have the game with the strategy guide in it, so I don't know what page it's on. What is it called in the strategy guide? Do you mean the ritual ring in the cave? YOu can go through the window in the train station and then back out a couple times to get back to the cave entrance.

My 2 available exits from inside the train station
put me either in front/back of the train station.
I can get to the cave via the statue, but no longer have an exit to the rear of the cave,
only back to the statue again.

when you state for example: "back out two times",
what exactly do you mean?
Are you meaning go down-screen two times?
{BTW~I have already used the chalk & matches at the ritual ring}

"Back out two times" sounds to me like using the down arrow twice in a row.

From the fountain square, go right one time, head through the broken window of the rear of the train station, exit out the door (could be via the right or via the bottom of the screen (it's been awhile, I don't remember), and then back out via the bottom of the screen to the mine car and up the grapple to the cave.

Sorry to say I can't play this game. I get a black screen at the beginning with sound. An error message flashes but it goes so fast that I can't read what it says. I've done all the fixes suggested by BF, but none of them work. This has happened with a few games but Customer Service has never been able to get them to run. I'm glad that there are trials versions so I don't have to ask for my money back, but this game looked so very interesting.

That's a shame, fil. I see a few other people mentioning the same thing on the Big Fish forums. Maybe there will be a fix.

Just finished this game. I had no problems at all. I thought it was a fantastic game and I really enjoyed it.

The colored squares puzzles has no skip but in the screen shot in the guide it shows a skip. I am stuck here! Is there supposed to be a skip or not?

If this is the puzzle you are talking about, you can read this thread on the forum on Big Fish that talks about this. I haven't played the game, so if this isn't the puzzle you are referring to, let me know. Apparently some folks ended up without a skip button...

I have a problem noone has mentioned i cant get the tail to go on the mermaid HELP!

Did you find the correct two that go together on the screenshot in the WT? You should be able to just drag it over and it should connect.

yes i have the right pieces but it dont matter where i put the tail it wont connect just goes back in iventory

I just went through the Big Fish forum for this game and found someone who was having the same problem, topcat. She said that she had to restart the scene in order to get it to work. You might want to try that if you haven't done so already.

I too had high hopes of playing this game but with the recent problems I've read I am afraid that I will have to pass on what seems to be a great game.

sorry but that didnt work for me just cant get the tail to connect to mermaid and cant finish game unless i can get it to work

That is a shame. I can't think of anything else to try, other than uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Sometimes that seems to correct weird little glitches.
