Wooo Hoooo Annie, I'm so glad.

Did you play the previous ones?

I got it, and have just played the very beginning. In the "How do I do this stage?"

Luckily eldest son is also playing and will be able to answer my interface questions (I hope). This is my first Elder Scrolls game, so it's all new to me.

I'm a cat. What race are you?

Hey Folks, wave since this deals with Dragons, I thought ol' Dragon Breath should weigh in... lol

Great game so far. It feels a bit more like a true RPG. Still the heavy combat element, but I really like that they've incorporated crafting this time around... bravo

It was delivered about 3:00pm yesterday and before I knew it, the time had slipped by and it was 1:00am!!! crazy

I hope everyone who gets this has as much fun a I am!

Well I am breathlessly awaiting the game. I wanted the boxed version rather than download so ordered from Amazon. My tracking said it arrived in Phoenix today which is 40 minutes away so, if I'm lucky it will arrive monday.

From all the comments it appears as if it will be a pleasure to play. Here's hoping. Congrats all who have it and I hope you are as immersed in the game as I hope to be.

Hi Looney! I just re-surfaced from the game. I played (and loved!) Oblivion, but this game is very different. I'm a Breton, but I love the cats. Wish I had a son to help me out!

Are you willing to share your sons, Looney?
I spent a long time yesterday just exploring. I had to turn the heat up, I got so cold wandering through blizzards.

Annie, always willing to share sons' knowledge with others.

That weather does make one cold, doesn't it?

I got to level 2 today.....haven't been able to sell to the shopkeepers yet though. Hubby said a forum said that I had to join the Thieves Guild first. sad What do I do with all this good stuff I've "found"? lol

I was reading about the game on Wiki, and found that the music is by Jeremy Soule, who among other games did the music for Guild Wars: Prophecies, Guild Wars: Factions, Guild Wars: Nightfall, Guild Wars: Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2. He's very popular both among game players and developers.

I haven't played any of the Elder Scroll games.

Oh, I've been able to sell stuff. I wonder why you can't. My problem is that no one has enough money to buy my stuff. I think I'm level 5, but I haven't done any quests yet. I just want to get comfortable in the game. Skyrim is not a very comfortable place, though.

looney4labs,

I was watching this WT to decide if I want to buy the game and the character is buying and selling stuff in a inn, maybe you want to check it.

Well, eight hours of playing down and my eyeballs are about ready to explode. This game looks just stunning for the most part and it's addicting to play. I've bought a horse and a house so far and I've only done a little bit of the main quest. The rest of the time I've spent exploring and doing side quests.

The interface is not the most fun thing in the world to navigate. I actually have one of those Xbox controllers for Windows and I switched over to that last night. It's not as much of a headache now using that.

Here's a pic of my character and her horse. smile

Thanks guys, I can sell now...so now just need to find a weapons guy who I can sell too.

Son came wandering out to see how I was doing and discovered I had skipped a major section eek so he sent me back to do it. I had no idea I'd skipped it.

I'm still just getting used to the interface....I Think I understand it and then wham, I smack someone with a mace.....but I'll get it down soon. (I hope)

Happy hunting...off to make dinner in the real world. Hubby said No Thanks to my offer of virtual carrots. wave

Wow I just went to Interact site and saw that Dave is selling this game. Had I known that I would have ordered from him instead of amazon.

Oh well, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for an arrival date of tomorrow.

Ahhh Oldman that is too bad. I checked Dave's site several times before release but didn't see it listed as coming, so bought our copies locally. wave

Hey Anne G., I was roaming around last night in Skyrim and I would so LOVE to buy a house---I'm spoiled from always having one in Oblivion I guess. I was wondering how you were able to get one? I've heard the guards say something about talking to the steward at the castle, but when I did, buying a house wasn't one of the conversation options.

Thanks for your help! smile

Hey, Tracy! The house I bought is the one in Whiterun. You have to complete a certain quest to get the option for it. I'll put the quest name in spoiler text for people who might not want to know.... wink

Click to reveal..
It's the Bleak Falls Barrow quest. The Jarl in Whiterun starts the quest by asking you to help his court wizard, Farengar.

Ah! Thank you so much. I didn't know that we had to do a certain quest in order to get it, but that makes sense. Now I'm excited all over again!

smile Tracy, who has the HUGE Skyrim strategy guide but doesn't want to crack it open so she won't spoil the game for herself. LOL

Well mine did come in today and I am also pleased with this seqeul. I do like it better than Oblivion.

I've made it past the first town and probably missed some side quests. Am now going after some kind of dragon stone.

Is anyone else playing in 3d person or am I the only one? I prefered 1st person for Morrowind but think I like 3d person for this game.

I switch back and forth all the time.....

What race did you all choose? I am a cat (they didn't have a dog)....

My son tells me if I keep doing side quests it will be a 43,000 hour game for me. I said, "What is wrong with that?"

He sent me back to the standing stones today...who knew? <shrug>

Son bought his house...I am many thousands away from mine. wave

I am an Imperial. I generally like to hack and slash as I am not to good at sneaking. Will have to study to see how this game handles magic for later on down. The only spells I used in Morrowind were the travel spells and this game seems to have fast travel by using the map.

Hey L4L, the 1st time I played Oblivion I was a cat(Khajiit) and I made her everything I aspired to be but never got there. And she was beautiful and strong and honest andandand. I so admired that virtual alter ego. Ended up playing Ob 4 times and M'Wind 2 times but never again as a cat.

BTW My Skyrim has'nt arrived yet and am on pins and needles and it's a fine day for gaming - it's raining!!!!! Here in drought central TX.

Can't decide on Nord or Imperial. My son prefers wood elf because you can hide and lurk around and make magic potions for your arrows then - surprise-got'cha!
