I think it is down to the site to give Paypal the info - I just made a pledge for another game trying to raise funds, and it was also using Paypal and the process was very straightforward and the amount I was pledging was clearly stated and it was clear it was a one time payment and the amount of money was displayed. I am going to pass on pledging on this one.
re the game, I have to agree with wincey and say I too did not think the next big thing was that good and I have blanked that one out of mind.
I do realise they are doing this to raise money so they can make games like the runaway series they say, but I do wonder what the game might end up like.
Also I might have given them a few quid if they could have set up the payment info for Paypal in a clear way that meant I knew what I was signing up for - if the other sites can manage it with Paypal in a clear way this issue is down to this developer/gamesplanet lab setup.

@Vic,
you can trust the site, they are not here to overcharge people but to get the game funded.
We have been working with gamesplanet for many years and they wouldn't play with taking money out of players.
However I agree that the sum should be present on Paypal page, I sent them the link to this topic and asked them if they can correct this for more transparency.

@thehood I checked out the payment site and the amount you are signing up for paypal still is not up there.
It still just says
Your preapproved payment summary

I really hope they succeed, it's going slower than I would have expected.  I really would like to play this game, it looks intriguing.
