I listed Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone as playable after I ran the setup file on the disk as an Administrator.

Good evening!
Would a game listed on GOG as compatible with Windows 7, run on Windows 8 (8.1, x64) as well, or does the list have to specifically list Win 8 as one of the supported operating systems?

Not necessarily. One game that was listed as compatible with Windows 7 did NOT work on Windows 8.1. I believe it was Zanarah. The place to ask would be GOG or even try going to the forums for that particular game and asking there. Like Marian says, it might help to know which game it is.

Good evening!
Sorry about not specifying the game. I did a search on GOG for some of the games listed on the Hall of Fame. Still Life, from 2005, is listed as playable on Win XP, Vista, 7 and 10, but not 8. So are Ultima Underworld 1 and 2. Hmmmm.

Good evening!
Most of the first eleven games I bought from GOG use DOSBox, as does the original Leisure Suit Larry (LSL) 1, so I would be surprised, too.
