Well, Bethesda announced that the full studio team is moving on to their next big game (hopefully that's Fallout 4!) There will be no more DLC for Skyrim. They will still be doing minor updates for fixes now and again but for the most part, Skyrim is done. Although as far as the modding community it concerned, they are just getting started. I'm a little bit disappointed. I was hoping for a dlc that addressed the conflict with the Thalmor. I would have loved to drive them out of Tamriel for good. Oh well, I can't complain much. I've had many, many wonderful hours in Skyrim and I'm sure I'll have more before it's all over with. http://www.bethblog.com/2013/04/15/moving-to-our-next-adventure/

Well, for me, I'm just getting started in Skyrim! I can understand the studio moving on, but I hope there are still people playing the game out there. Glad to hear the modders are still going strong.
Thanks for the announcement!

I hope there are still people playing the game out there. That got me curious so I just had a look on Steam, there are currently just under 26,000 people playing Skyrim at the moment.

I guess the release of Dragonborn DLC brought some players back to the game. For myself, I'm usually a year behind the mainstream gamers.

I can't say much. I didn't play Oblivion until four years after it was released. I love the game but I still have yet to finish the main quest.

Hi Anne. I'm with you---I wish so much that they had created a DLC or something where we call could battle the Thalmor (or perversely, BE one of the bad guys!) I'm not sure why they chose to have the Dragonborn DLC on Solstheim---a place we've already visited back in Morrowind. But...maybe they'll pick Somerset Isle (sp?) for one of their future games, and we'll get to see the High Elves in their native habitat as well as find out how the Thalmor came to be. PS All this time later and I'm still playing Skyrim. I just did the Thieves Guild part again because I found a mod where you can marry Brynjolf---but only after finishing the quest! lol Lord that guy is hot---that accent and the way he says "lass" just makes me want to fall off my chair! LOL LOL LOL Tracy, who might be having red-haired, Irish babies one of these days

There are other games I'm way behind in playing too. I have Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansions, but have not played it. Same thing for Icewind Dale, Divinity II (Dragon Knight), and Witcher 2. I'm behind on some adventure games too. I buy them when I see a good price, then I get involved in a game like Oblivion and months fly by! Tracy, I haven't seen Brynjolf yet. But I'm afraid I'll have to pass with flirting with him this time. I decided to play a male Redguard instead of my usual female choice. I've never played a Redguard, but I thought they had some good race stats in Skyrim. I do have Hearthfire, and am trying to get my land to build on before I start a family. In the meantime, Lydia and I are pretty close.

I kept hoping for a mod that would allow my character to make Captain Lonely Gale in Windhelm not quite so lonely anymore. Alas... one never materialized. At least, none that ever worked, because I tried a good half dozen.

Thanks, AnneG! I am very disappointed. They just better be working on Elder Scrolls VI.
I too wanted to be able to off the Thalmor. What a bunch of snooty b******s.
Hmm, Tracy, I'm not sure but that may be red haired Scottish babies. Brynjolf is pretty dishy, but, um, haven't you married enough guys in Skyrim. Just a gentle hint, dearie.
I'm currently playing Kingdoms of Amalur and I'm loving it! I'd highly recommend it, but unfortunately not for Tracy. There are spiders.

I did a couple of playthroughs of Kingdoms of Amalur and would recommend it to any who have enjoyed the elder Scrolls games.
It has somewhat of the same feel to it.

◾Brynjolf's name is a common name in Iceland (spelled Brynjólfur in Icelandic) and is a combination of Old Norse for "(chain) mail armour" and "wolf". ◾In Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon, there was a Blacksmith named Brynjolfr, who made snow wolf light armor. Whether or not there is any relation is a mystery, but the root of the name is the same. Brynjolf on ES Wiki I ran into Brynjolf last night. My house is almost finished, and Lydia and I traveled to Riften to get married. Brynjolf definitely is a charming rogue! You have good taste, Tracy!

I'd never heard of Kingdoms of Amalur. Just checked it out and it looks interesting. Thanks for mentioning it. I'll have to keep it in mind!

Hi Lanlynk! Thanks for posting about your Skyrim wanderings! I think it's neat that you decided to play as a male charcter and marry Lydia! She IS gorgeous---wish I looked like that! LOL
So you've met my Brynjolf hmmm? Well, the funny thing is that the mod I'm using allows his voice to say things but they don't really match the text-written words, so he might be "writing" "See you, my love" but he's verbally saying something like, "Don't let them catch you, see you soon". LOL!!! Some marriage! Oh well, he's yummy and for a game-marriage, that's all that matters. LOL LOL
Annie---I had to smile at your response. I really HAVE married pretty much every guy in the game at one time or another (thank God for the divorce mod that I found!) but ever since the game first came out I've wanted to marry Brynjolf and so far, my wandering eye hasn't "wandered" so maybe we'll end up w/ those Irish babies after all! LOL Oh and btw---I tried Kingdoms of Amalur and I really liked it until I got the spiders, as you said. OMG. If only there was a mod to remove them like there is for Skyrim!
Tracy, feeling mischevious (sp?) as usual

LOL!!! Some marriage! Oh well, he's yummy and for a game-marriage, that's all that matters. LOL LOL Yeah, marriage in Skyrim is kind of odd at times! Sometimes you just have to use your imagination. I used to always play females. Then I did Gothic and Witcher and found playing a guy could be different, but fun. I did a male for Dragon Age II also. I do find my thinking changes when playing a male. I picked up Marcurio as a second companion before marrying Lydia. I thought maybe Lydia would want to stay home every once in awhile to be with the kids we'll eventually adopt. Then I wondered--would Lydia think I was being a chauvinist leaving her home to cook and babysit? A guy's got to think of these things now days! I also decided to get Marcurio because he's male ... didn't want Lydia to be worried if I went adventuring with a female!

Hey AnneG. On the subject of Captain Lonely Gale, (he IS yummy btw!) I tried to marry him last year using the console and it seemed to work fine. I don't have the codes memorized, but I can find them and post them if you'd like to give it a try. Tracy
