maybe we should have a top 10 worst games-- games you would only recommend to your worst enemy then the quivering can be at the head of that followed by the scroll which is a masterpiece compared to the quivering.

Its only early days but that doesn't stop me reaching conclusions. One such is that the gaming universe is starting to take note. Consider Sanitarium. An old game, yet it already has more recommendations than last year. It might drop on and off peoples recommendations for all sorts of reasons, but it is reasonable to assume that it is less likely to be added to the list of a person who didn't recommend it last year and who had already played it, than it is to be on the list of someone who hadn't played it last year. Which means that persons who hadn't played it found out about it somehow. Lighthouse is the same. Dare we presume...?? What else? Top 3 remains pretty much the same, and no one will as yet admit that The Scroll is a favourite. Good to see Ceremony of Innocence getting a mention, and perhaps surprising that Rama hasn't yet been. 120 games have more than one recommendation, and the game with the most votes which I haven't played is Discworld Noir.

Picking 15 for "general audience" recommendation is a heck of a lot easier than picking my favorite 15. Trying to cut THAT list down is like ripping my heart out. Myst Exile Riven Obsidian Zork the Grand Inquisitor Gabriel Knight, Sins of the Father Gabriel Knight, Blood ofthe Sacred Tex Murphy Pandora Directive Dark Fall Syberia I Timelapse Riddle of the Sphinx Shivers I Grim Fandango The Dig Thanks once again, Flotsam!!

Good point Colpet - I didn't know that. That will teach me to conjecture . And Rama got mentioned. But I was right about Discworld Noir 2 weeks to go, and Kate motors on.

I liked Rama, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone unless I knew they were OK with math and converting to and from numbering systems other than base 10. The Twisty List isn't just a list of which games are your favorites. It's a list of games you'd recommend for a newcomer to adventure games to try.
