The Drowned God has woken; the classic game is reborn for a new generation. Check out the trailer here.Check out the official website here.Check out the original GameBoomer review Here.Drowned God: Conspiracy of Ages Relaunch.
In 1996 a game described by one journalist as "the strangest, creepiest, most psychedelic adventure game I've yet to come across." was released. Reaching the Top Ten within two weeks, the sudden and unexplained demise of its publisher, a subsidiary of Timer Warner, left the game to fade into internet memory, another evolutionary gaming dead-end adrift in a sea of zeros and ones, until now…….
The last few years has seen the interest in the game and its enigmatic designer ‘Harry Horse’ growing, catching the attention of curious minds across the globe. Its subject matter and darker secrets has fuelled discussion and speculation. Working with the original IP Holders and the estate of Harry Horse, the game has been updated to run on modern Windows systems and re-released with a wealth of previously unseen materials documenting the games development from early concept through to release.
The game itself is very much a product of its era yet it still retains its relevance and quality graphically, largely due to the prerendered nature of its environments. The Game is hard, offering no clues as to what the player should be doing and no hint of what the UI does (almost a mid 90’s Dark Souls) reading the instruction booklet is essential!
Included in the package. Original game updated to run on modern Windows systems. Diary of a Plagiarist by Harry Horse. The Original Pitch document for the game. Art Book collated and annotated by renowned artist and Drowned God Co Creator Alastair Graham. The original Electronic Press Pack. Original Instruction Booklet. Complete Walk Through document, providing directions and solutions for the entire game.
A note about the relaunch. Harry Horse estate is owned by his immediate family, managed by his two sisters Kay and Emma. The estate has close ties to Harry's original vision and endorse the re-release of Drowned God : Conspiracy of the Ages. Emma and Kay are working with the original Co Creators Algy Williams and Alastair Graham along with the Next Path Media team and are united by a commitment to honouring Harry's original work and his continuing legacy. Happy Gaming!

Thanks, BrownEyedTigre I remember having this game in my collection a very long time ago but I can't remember whether I ever got it to run !! [I did have a Win95 machine for a couple of years but then upgraded it to Win98.]

Hurray!!! another GreyFuss game, thank you Sheriff but...........it looks (at least to me) just a re-release of the original game tweaked to run on modern machines and not a re-make/updated version. For $25.00 I am not so sure this is a good deal but I may be entirely wrong (I have been wrong before) I did play the original on a Win98 machine, I believe, that I had bought just to play old games and remember enjoying the time but there were parts that were mind blowing and difficult if I remember correctly. I will hold off until I can see some videos of this new game in action before deciding for sure. At any rate I am glad to see old games come back and hope that many other games can reappear no matter whether they be just to run on modern machines or a complete makeover.

Greyfuss, as the title of the thread suggests, it is indeed a "relaunch" not a "remake". Since it has not been readily available legally for a long time, it's great for people that never got a chance to enjoy. It is still considered difficult but walkthroughs are available! Pugwash, what a tragic story.

I was, and am, interested. First there is a redo of "Riven", and now they are reissuing "Drowned God." Life is very good for a really old Gameboomer. I have long loved "Drowned God" but I have a feeling that only gamers older than 65 (Man! Do I qualify!) will know what is going on in this game.

Hi Tally Ho,
Drowned God is no longer on GOG. I missed that one. How were you able to play DG on GOG Galaxy using the original disk? How did that work? You might be on to something here

While finally reorganizing my last old box of games, I found my original copy of Drowned God. With it were all three disks in a double jewel case; the manual; a pink printed sheet of specs and instructions, and a bonus. There is a three-inch floppy disk labeled "DROWNED GOD patch." The game was listed for Windows 95. I struck me that since I needed Windows 95; a slot for the disks; and another slot for the floppy, I haven't had a computer that would run this game for at least ten years.
