Doctor Arcana's second adventure takes you to a legendary castle on a mysterious island where new puzzling challenges await and dark secrets are guarded by deadly traps. Can you complete the Trials of the Elders?

Check out the game here.

Quote
Doctor Arcana and the Secret of Shadowspire (sequel to The Cabinets of Doctor Arcana) picks up on Halloween night, right where the first game leaves off. Doctor Arcana's second adventure takes the new Arcanum initiate to a legendary island to investigate the crypts and halls of an ancient castle known as Shadowspire, where new puzzling challenges await and dark secrets are guarded by deadly traps. Can you complete the Trials of the Elders?

The new game includes some added features to help players as they embark upon this dark quest. Once again, Doctor Arcana will be ever-present to watch over players and lend his "guidance" when needed.

Immerse yourself in moody environments as you explore the shadows of a gothic mansion and castle.

Over 50 perplexing puzzles, mind-bending mazes, and confounding conundrums.

Haunting soundtracks by Nox Arcana

In-game Walkthru & Mapping feature.

Art Gallery featuring dozens of eerie works of art by Joseph Vargo

Happy Gaming!

Thanks Ana!

Any idea if it will show up on Big Fish like the first game did?

I like the settings/atmosphere and puzzles here. I will get this one. They remind me of hidden object puzzles that me and Deb use to play from Big Fish Games. I think she will like this one and Steams "The Cabinet of Doctor Arcana"

I can only guess that it will show up on BF oldbroad along side The Cabinets of Doctor Arcana. Why it has not released on BF I couldn't tell you

Thank you Ana

It's possible that Big Fish will get the game, but the first one did not show up on Big Fish until it had been out on Steam for about six months, as I recall. This is not to say that it could not be different this time, but I would be surprised if it was.

6 months, really Marian. If a developer chooses to release their game on Steam they have to wait awhile before it can be released on Big Fish or any site for that matter. I take it that would be on a Steam contract as an "exclusive"?

I am not really sure, Orion. I only know that some Steam casual games show up on Big Fish sooner rather than later, some take forever, and some never show up at all. wave

True Fear, a very popular HOPA game on Big Fish, never got True Fear Part II which was released on Steam years ago. I heard that for some reason Big Fish did not want to take it, but I have absolutely no idea as to why. All kinds of stuff go on behind the scenes that we are rarely privy to.

GOG also got True Fear Part II, but quite a bit later after Steam released it.

Part III is supposed to arrive in the next few months but I doubt we will ever see it on Big Fish being as they still don't have Part II.

Steam does not do exclusive contracts. Anyone releasing on Steam can simultaneously release their games anywhere they want.

Thanks for clarifying this, Ana. That's how it has always seemed to me, but it is good to hear you confirm this.

That's the way I thought it worked too. Thanks for the confirmation, Ana.

Thank you Marian and Ana. I guess it boils down to whether or not the developer wants to have their game running on other sites, which I presume they would, and whether or not in this case Big Fish would accept it

I did a search and found this:

Quote
Big Fish Games selects which games to offer based on a combination of factors including player data, market trends, genre popularity, developer quality, and the overall appeal of the game concept; essentially aiming to provide a diverse selection of games that cater to a wide range of player interests while ensuring high quality and engagement.

There was more detail on each factor but it was lengthy

The Cabinets of Doctor Arcana has good reviews so maybe it is just a matter of time

Orion, the developer is going to release their games where they can get the most money. Releasing on Steam before BigFish makes a lot of sense because Steam takes 30% of the sales. At 14.99 a sale minus 30% 10.49 a game and BigFish and other casual portals take 60%+. Take in account the discounts for club members etc and their income is significantly less. Getting what they can upfront for their fans and followers who don't want to wait is a smart move before distributing other places. Despite some peoples resistance to Steam, it remains the largest distributer.
