I decided upon Beyond: Star Descendant CE. I think I played a little of it years ago but got interrupted and never finished it. I am about 40 minutes in and it all seems new to me at this point.

The first Beyond game I've played twice. This one seems good too so far.

So I played some more of Green Moon 2 but am not sure I will make it through the game or not. I had to find a walkthrough because I just didn't know what I was doing. For instance, I needed a diving suit which I had but I didn't know how to use it. Then, you need to be able to breathe while on the moon and I remember from the first game some tab you click but it wasn't available. Well, I had a potion to make and that gave me the tab I needed but it only lasted for 10 seconds or so which is not enough time to look around. I wasn't actually supposed to be looking around on the moon though which I found out when I looked at the walkthrough. Then, comes the mini game of destroying 30 asteroids. 30!! I got 3 of them and here comes a warning that an asteroid is about to destroy the moon and bam! Game over. Then I looked at the walkthrough which says it's easier if you just stay in place and don't move around the screen which I was doing because I was looking for the asteroids. It also says you have to be quick and aim accurately (which is not me). I don't think you can skip this but I'm not sure. There are some things that can be skipped. I'd have to go back in and check it out but I was too busy trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing and how. There are 8 save slots and I've already used them all and over-written my first save. There is also a autosave slot. I suppose if I can save in between destroying each asteroid I might be able to get through the mini game. I'll have to see what happens next time.

That all sounds a bit tricky and somewhat complicated. I will need to investigate to see what can be skipped in this game.

Good grief, Steam describes the game as having around 400 locations and about 48 hours of gameplay. eek

Well, you can save during the mini game but it doesn't really save the progress so there's no point in doing so. You can skip it though which I will probably do. I tried again, and again I could only get 3 of them.

Shooting asteroids or whatever with a mouse is almost impossible. You would probably have better results with some kind of controller like the action games use. You would probably do better if you were 16 again. LOL

I don't like those shooting episodes, and I also don't like those scenes where you have to go down the river dodging rocks and logs left and right.

Oh - and what am I playing now? Found the three House of DaVinci games on sale and bought all three. Finished the first two, and working through the third one. They are something between casual and adventure; gorgeous artwork and tough puzzles.

I'm not too fond of those dodging objects games either, Tally Ho!

I tried again for about a half hour and ended up getting 7 of the 30 asteroids but then I got some kind of error and had to use task manager to get out of the game. When I went back in I skipped it, which is what I kept intending to do every time I went into the mini game but I kept feeling compelled to try it "one more time".

Now I am trying to fight off some kind of attack with a bow and arrow. I did okay during the "practice" and "certification" but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the actual mini game or will have to skip. I haven't quite figured it out yet and don't know how many attacks I have to fend off.

Good luck! I would no doubt end up skipping much of this too, although I might ask my son to give it a try first.

I tried for almost 15 minutes. I managed to shoot down 2 people but I don't know how many there are supposed to be. There is an hourglass counting down time I guess so maybe it just is about not losing in that time but if there is nobody in your sight to shoot at you still lose, apparently. I don't know. I ended up getting that same error again like last night and had to use task manager again to exit out of the game. I guess it doesn't like when you have to make too many attempts. Fine with me. I will skip the mini game when I go back in and move along.

Sounds good. Hopefully the rest of the game will make up for these mini games.

I am still playing Green Moon 2. I finished playing Queen's Garden: Christmas and Christmas Wonderland 14.

Tonight I started Christmas Adventure: A Winter Night's Dream. It's kind of different and I'm finding the beginning of the HO scenes to be quite hard. Before the list of items to be found appears you have to complete some other search. For instance, one of the scenes said "Can you fix the Secateurs". There were 15 items to find of a similar nature. I don't know, I'm finding those beginning sections hard. The actual HO items afterward are easy though.

Congrats on finishing those games!

Christmas Adventure: A Winter Night's Dream does not sound familiar to me. Will look it up.

I finished Christmas Adventure: A Winter Night's Dream. It is a good game but for me, it was frustratingly hard in some parts. I did use the hint button several times in those HO scene preludes and I skipped one mini game that either didn't work for me or I didn't know how to make it work. It was good because it was different.

That's all very good to know. Congrats on finishing. I looked up the game on Big Fish and this one had completely passed me by. I am glad to know about it. wave12

And, I have now finished Green Moon 2. It plays just like the first game and it is mostly an enjoyable game. There was one more mini game that I had to skip involving bottles in water. I looked at the walkthrough but could not get it to work right. Afterward I decided that I probably had misunderstood something in the walkthrough but I did not go back to a prior save to test that theory out. There were two mini games that I was able to solve; one a mirror reflector and one a gun duel. I did need the walkthrough to help me through a few places.

Marian, I meant to comment on this earlier, that Steam description that you mentioned in a prior post regarding 400 locations probably refers to all the locations on the moon which you can visit but there isn't really anything there. They had that in the first game also. And, as far as the 48 hours of gameplay, maybe that's how long it takes if you try to get those 30 asteroids. I do wish I had understood better how the shooting bow and arrows game worked before the game crashed and I decided to skip it. There is a question mark in the corner of all the screens but for some reason I didn't think to look at it to see if it explained the rules. I would have tried it some more if I understood it and if it wouldn't crash out on me.

I think I will go for Christmas Stories: Yulemen next.

I have also been back playing Voodoo Detective - stuck right now on the yacht.

Ob, I got stuck on the yacht in Voodoo Detective too - I wonder if you are stuck in the same place? I had to look at a walkthrough finally and it was one of those simple little actions that I had not thought of doing.

Anyway, thanks for clearing that up about Green Moon 2 and the number of locations and playing hours. That just did not make any sense to me at all, what Steam was saying about it. That sounded like an RPG rather than a casual game in terms of the scope and size. Congrats on finishing!

I have played Christmas Stories: Yulemen and I enjoyed it. A nice Christmas game. happydance12

Yes, I remember that part. Have fun!

I am now playing a time management game called Miriel the Magical Merchant. Not sure I will be able to finish this one as it is getting quite difficult, but for now I will continue. wave12

Hah! That name did not suggest a food game to me, Marian. Too bad there is no video for me to look at it better (maybe I can Google it and find one, just to see).
