Here are the updates from Jonathan.

New Lammana trailer here.

Lammana will be the next game from me and Darkling Room. Here are the games so far. After Lammana I’ll be kicking Nigel’s sorry ass into gear. It’ll be excellent to have a new game out too.

Expected early May or earlier if I get my skates on

The Lost Crown - A Ghost Hunting Adventure from 2007. Undoubtably my biggest game to date, worldwide in boxes, big publisher deal, several languages. I get to meet people from all over the world when they visit to retrace their gaming steps in the real world of Polperro and Looe. An adaptation of M.R.James ‘A warning to the Curious’ it’s a game that still haunts me to this day, for good and bad. I’m very keen to do more Crown stuff, but unfortunately the big sequel was made in such a creaky old engine it’s so ‘PC only’ it’s just not enough. So, instead, I’ll finish Silent Night (a Crown adventure) and then shift things on. I actually wake up at night sometimes, and get really angry in my head about how things ended up so stuck. So, this could be a good year for me too. Me, my mum, Jo, Philip, Amy, Matt, and others really acted our socks off with my script, all of which I have as audio. And the scenery all exists, as does all my sound design and music. So it’s time to break it down and just shift to newer engines. Matt actually teaches gaming at Uni, preferring Unreal as a platform, so that could be interesting to do. Still point and click, obviously, and it means Matt will be more on-board and keen. Plus, I get to be Nigel again! 😁
So Crown fans, don’t despair, change is good and I’m fed up of being stuck in a rut.
Apologies to some for me deleting comments, but asking about another game on a Lammana post just isn’t helpful.
Thanks,
See you in Saxton one day. Preferably this side of the year.

I see I'm getting asked the same Blackenrock question, again. I did just explain it in a post, so here it is again:
Winter Update: I’ve been floored, indoors for nearly two weeks with this Winter’s flu. It’s bloody awful. 😆🤒 But it gave me time to work on what my mother calls my ‘unfinished knitting’, which is a few unfinished and unreleased video games.🫤
I’ve been finishing off a game I made a few years back, set locally here in Cornwall. I need Matt to partner with me on Lost Crown type games, too unwieldy for me alone, as the first one was 25+ hours of gameplay! But we did ridiculous hours to make that happen, often working through the night. You get to a certain age, and you just can’t really do that anymore. It was the same with Dark Fall, work and Uni during the day, 3D modelling and programming until 5am. Salad days.
But I do really enjoy making games, it’s quite exciting when a new one comes out, big or small.
So, next game from me will be my Lammana game, in early May. It’s a long point and click adventure, Lovecraftian, paranormal and noir elements, set very vividly in 1920’s Cornwall. Lots of puzzles and exploration, and a bit of sly humour regarding the time period and rural seaside setting.
There be monsters out there, in Looe Bay! 🦑🐙🦀

After Lammana, I’ll likely tackle Nigel’s Danvers adventure, Silent Night, as I’m quite comfortable in the new engine, building in 3D but presenting in point and click, classic style. I was disappointed people didn’t take to full 3D, at the time, but I’m more chilled now. As the Director it is actually really rewarding to set up worlds and choose what the player looks at, especially with adventures like Crown, as the first one was really about the photography and atmosphere.

🎥 There’s a similar presentation in Lammana, but back in the days of early movie cameras and film reels. A distinctive look, very woozy and Crown like at times. Going to be spooky fun. I’ll be dropping a gameplay trailer next at Darkling Room, which reveals a lot! So either avoid, for spoilers, or take a look to see if it’s for you, fellow classic adventurer.
Lastly, not interested in hearing from naysayers, trolls, Crown moaners. Life’s too short. 👍🏼
Jonathan

Happy Gaming!

You are welcome, Marian! I was on the fence yesterday on whether or not to post due to people crawling out of the woodwork to make snide comments, but looks like someone already posted, so after spending 6 hours working outside in -0F windchills, I'm ready for it. I pity the fool! shiver lol

P.S. If you have nothing nice to nice to say about how long it's taking for release and they haven't taken any of your money, silence is golden!

I love hearing from "the guys" on whatever progress they have made - or not made. I'm just glad they are still in the game.

Thank you for the update, Ana! And I also pity the fool who thinks they should make snide comments!

Jonathon's games back in the day were some of the best games produced. I don't think he has released a game to date I did not get and play some with my wife, she enjoyed them as well. You can bet as he continues to develop and release games we will be playing them

Thanks for the updates Ana

Check out some of these other games being work on including a Dark Fall 5 ---- "More"
