I'm replaying this game and am at the point where I'm trying to get the spaceship off the ground. I'm supposed to find the pilot to get a blood sample but he's nowhere to be found. I've looked everywhere.
Where is he? He's not where the walkthrough say he should be.

I haven't played this game since it was first released so am of no help at all. Have you tried watching a video walkthrough of this portion of the game? In all likelihood it's some little step you need to accomplish before the pilot appears.

And maybe another recent player will be able to help, too.

I found a different walkthrough. It helped.
