how do I open a zip file

To extract all files or folders, right-click the compressed folder, and then click Extract All.

I always make sure I have the zipped files in the right place before I unzip them because years ago, the first time I ever unzipped anything, I ended up with zillions of individual files all over my desktop

can someone walk me thru about unzipping and where I should put the unzipped files..i would really appreciate it ....thanx a bunch

I am not sure - Please verify first if the saved game folder is in: C: Program Files - Microïds - stilllife - save folder.

yes it is in that folder

Let's see if we can work this through:
- download the file to desktop.
- then as Winfrey stated - To extract all files or folders, right-click the compressed folder, and then click Extract All
- you will see a folder with no zipper. Open it and see the file(s) inside). Check the numbers of those files.
- Open the saved game folder. Check to see if you have a similar number as the one you downloaded and unzipped.
- There should be no duplicate numbered saved game files. So either take you own/old saved game with same number or renumber the one you now got to a new number.
- place the new (possibly renumbered) files you got to the saved game folder. Close folder.
- Play-load as usual and search for the one you placed in.

To the procedure above - I forgot to state that after extracting the zipped folder - there might an outside folder and an inside numbered folder.
Use the inside folder only.

i dont understand it. dont you have a saved file that i can just download it instead of trying to unzip the file

I don't have any saved games for Still Life, unfortunately.

However it is still a zip file.
It extracts to StillLife.sav

However extracting the zip file to a save file is the easy part, and if you can't do that, I don't know how you're going to get the save into the game's save folder. Do you have a friend or family member who can do it for you?

The reason it is in a zipped file is beacuse EACH saved game file is in a folder that is labeled.
Inside that folder is the file that is read by the game.
So you need both.
If you cannot do an unzipping - can you make a folder, label it correctly and place it in the saved game folder?
Then I can send you the file that you need to place inside the folder you made. Tell me.
