hi, I'm back, and no I do not get an option to SAVE the saved game file - only option I see in my email from Marian with the attachment is DOWNLOAD and when I click on that I don't know where it downloaded to, can't find it. Tried to cut/paste also but that too does not work. Am stumped. There should be options to choose from or at least a way to save and copy/paste onto the desktop but I don't see any. And again, can't answer "what app do you with to use to open this file?" Guess it might be a good idea to move this over to the technicians and see if they can help me. Hi Betty Lou, I moved your post over to Glitches so that someone can help you out who is also familiar with Windows 8.

What are you using for email? That is normally what determines where downloads go. Mine go to my Downloads file. One way to find that file is to make sure you are in the Start page with the tiles and just start typing downloads. It should come right up - mine is the 2nd listing with a blue square next to it. Or just switch to your desktop and click on the library icon in the taskbar - looks like a file folder in a blue holder. The Download file should be listed somewhere at the upper left.

Once you find the where the file went to, then it should be a simple thing to right click it and select Send To > Desktop or right click > Copy.

It probably went to your Downloads folder...
C:\Users\whatever-your-username-is\Downloads

(unless you changed the download location)

Most web browsers have the option to "Always ask me where to save files" or ask you where you want your default download location to be.

OK, I am making progress - have found Marian's saved game (cannot explain what I did [now] or how I found it - and its "title" does not agree with the other saved games for this game, the previous saved games I received (to win the kayak race) from I think MaG was titled like this "Kayak win save.Hi Med Save" & Marian's also has same extension. However, In the file for C/ProgramFiles/HerInteractive/TheShatteredMedalian the only file extensions I see/have are= .dll .com .exe .INI .pdf .lua so I have no idea where the other saved games for this game are 'residing'. Am trying now to remember how to do a SEARCH to find them so I can copy Marian's into same place. Getting closer but still stumped. Why did "they" have to make all this so hard to understand, instead of new OPSYS making things easier to do?

Betty Lou, on my Windows 7, my Shattered Medallion saved games are in the My Documents folder - inside the folder, look for The Shattered Medallion. See if you can find your saved games there.

Hi Marian - I FOUND THEM! My saved games for this game are in Libraries/TheShatteredMedalion and have the proper extension/s. I am so glad you and MaG were patient enough to help me muddle thru this mess. And I see from the Glitches thread that they are already talking about WIN-10 and how I wish they would just forget about any more changes (to make using my computer better? Phooey, just makes it harder for me to do anything like I used to and too hard to keep learning new ways to store and find things, wasting my time and frustrating the heck out of me. Thanks again for your help, I am on my way with Nancy and Sonny & Patrick exploring that cave YAY! (I may be back if/when I get stuck again LOL, like the bad penny, I keep showing up, eventually.
