Kholat is available worldwide by means of digital distribution, including platforms like steam and Gog. View the Release Trailer here. Check out the official website here. Check the screenshots here. Kholat is a FPP storytelling / experience game, developed by independent studio IMGN.PRO, inspired by true events known as the "Dyatlov Pass Incident". We follow the path of a group of Russian students, that went for an expedition in the northern Ural Mountains. The team does not reach its goal, the entire crew dies in mysterious circumstances.
The rescue expedition is being sent. They find the tent, which is cut from the inside. Students bodies, incompletely dressed, are found within a radius of several hundred meters. Everything points to some kind of event, that caused sudden panic, which led to the tragic, chaotic escape. In most cases, death occurs as a result of chilling, but some bodies have other strange damage signs. Player is thrown into the area where the tragedy occurred, years after the actual event, with a chance to discover the real course of tragic events. About IMGN.PRO – founded 5 years ago, is an indie game developer and publishing company located in southern Poland.
Happy Gaming! Ana

I have already purchased this but don't know when I will play it. The reviews I've looked at are not very favorable which would not stop me from buying the game, just wish I had waited until it was cheaper. (Bought first, read later.)
What I read that I don't like, is that the game auto saves at certain places and you can die very easily and unexpectedly and have to replay possible large portions.
EDIT: Just found some other reviews that are very favorable.

I am so disapointed by the autosave and I wonder why the editor don't at least give us some saves that we do ourselves. I am about to start the game now but am so dispointed to read this. Anyway we will see how it goes. Thanks again Ana.

I have been playing for a couple of days and so far it consists of collecting pages for the journal, there is lots of wandering around, all in the dark so far. There appears to be two things that can kill you, one is a flaming human figure and the other is a large black shadow, if you see these run like crazy, sometimes just switching off your torch helps, these creatures seem to inhabit the lower areas, have not encountered any higher up Slipping off a narrow path will also kill you. The save points are a bit of a nuisance as its hard to get back to the place you were as there are other pathways to try and most look very similar. Sometimes you know something is going to happen as the music changes. The game is different and very scarey.

No "manual" save facility is something I don't like, either, but when a good story is involved I'm willing to have a go - though maybe with the aid of a walkthrough [Which is how I will probably also have to tackle The Vanishing of Ethan Carter !!]

Don't think a walkthrough is possible for this one, Mad. Time is just spent walking around, down very similar paths, swirling snowstorms, falls over cliffs and death (frequently) by monsters. Personally, I have stumbled on notes just by luck and being in the right place. No point in putting spoiler tags here because you can't pinpoint places in the game. e.g. you stumble on a rotting, wide, wooden bridge blocked by a rockfall-commonsense tells you something must be here. Eureka!! a note pinned high on a post. I probably won't be able to find the bridge again, don't suppose it matters though. Given time and lots of patience you may be able to complete the game-me I'm still just walking around.........

KHOLAT After having said that I would not play Kholat because of the lack of auto save I finally did it in 20 hours. I read that somebody did it in 6 hours, I must me a real slow mow lol. But I am and old broad and am very stuborn. I was so impress by the atmosphere and the art design that I was compelled to do it till the end even if I would be sick after. I still do not understand the compass and did not bother with it. I tried to follow the map as precisesly as possible and by observation of the decors. I got killed a million times and redid it, and read all the notes (that did make very much sense to me anyway). I am suprised that I did finish it because I am not very patient but the winter scene reminded me of my country in winter during snow strom (upper Laurentian Quebec, Canada)and even if I hate snow I am fascinated by it. The sound track is exquistie and helps emphazise this gloomy atmosphere. I think it is worthwhile playing it if you liked Dear Esther. There is one (lots of offensive language) but it's very hard to associate it with your game. I went to see this link with bad language for some hint of where to go but this UTube doesn't show you the path at all. There is not a good walthrough about this game on U-Tube. I guess it is impossible to do.
