I know what your going thru, Karen. Smoke has been thick enough here to cut it with a knife. Heard there's supposed to be rain by this weekend. Will pray it will be sooner.

Prayers for all of Washington State. My sister lives In Okanogan and barely escaped the fire last week. It came to within 1/3 mile (just across the street from her 5 acre plot. The houses on the side nearest the hill that burned were spared thanks to a shift in the wind. It was literally at their back doors!
Stay safe everyone and my sis says to tell you that a wet washcloth works a hundred times better to filter out the smoke than those 'approved' masks they are handing out.

Well all of us can rest.......its raining today and tomorrow. So relief is in sight. I am sad that we lost 3 of our finest (firefighters) in this fire. I have several firefighters in our family and believe me when I say they are brave, too brave for me. I could never rush into a burning building like they do and crash through doors to save a person from burning alive. Thank you GOD for the rain.

Happy for the rain. The smoke made it all the way to Calgary Canada. I haven't been able to open a window in 5 days. At least I can see the blue sky now. I have asthma and it's great to be able to breath again.

My errant sister finally answered my email and said it rained in her little town of Okanogan where the fire just missed her 3 times. She says it looks pretty good for now except for the constant smoke.

We are in serious need of rain here to Dar. Our trees have already started to turn and the grass is brown. No rain now for several weeks! They are forecasting showers for Thursday so hopefully we get some!
