Amnesia: Dark Descent is - hands down - the scariest game I've ever played. No overt monsters, just vague shapes and the sound, oh dear... the sound. Loved this game, but I've never been able to get through a 2nd play through - chickened out!

Enjoyed the game throughly, and have played bits and pieces several times. It is scary! Penumbra: Necrologue, a mod for Amnesia: The Dark Descent is the one I haven't had the courage to replay. If you like scary games, grab The Dark Descent while it's availalble. Good Luck! Terri PS Actually after you get The Dark Descent, you can d/load Penumbra: Necrologue for free!

Oh Drac, that game really got to me. I so want to play it again, but not sure I can! Do you remember where you left off?

I sure don't - it's been a couple of years! Did you play A Machine for Pigs? Pretty creepy, but nothing like Dark Descent.

Darn has Penumbra Necrologue been out that long? Time flies. I have "A Machine for Pigs" but have barely gotten anywhere with it. I just seem to keep circling the house, haven't come across anyone and am thinking that's a good thing.

I was having a Brain Excretion - Necrologue has only been out for about 8 months! I was thinking of the expansions that were released shortly after the game was.

Drac, quick question. I have the Penumbra games on disk but what are the chances that I won't be able to play them down the road? I ask because I'm thinking about buying them from Steam. I did the same with the Syberia and Dracula games. Dumb idea?

At this point, mostly you're better off getting them from GOG or Steam. But check out the Windows 8 and games thread. If I remember right, I got them to play on Windows 8.

Ok but I'm thinking I will eventually go to Win 10, once you say all the bugs have been worked out of it.

Your Dell all-in-one really limits you in games. It has an integrated video chip, so you won't be able to play any of the newer games that require a stand alone video card. For instance, Layers of Fear is available at Steam, but the system requirements are below. This game requires quite a hefty video card.
System Requirements
Minimum: OS: Windows 7 Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q8400 Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB DirectX: Version 11 Hard Drive: 3 GB available space
Recommended: OS: Windows 7 Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB DirectX: Version 11 Hard Drive: 3 GB available space
