I cannot find the upper level of the gold dome on Crater Island. Even with three different walkthroughs, I cannot find it. I've used the rotating room; and each time I walk over to the gold dome, it goes where I've already been. Since the walkthrough says the provided structure won't always be the same, I couldn't automatically assume Room #3 would be in the upper left-hand corner across from the main entrance. Therefore, I tried different doorways without success. Since I don't have to solve the marble puzzle just yet, I went on to Plateau Island. However, I am eventually going to have to find it. Where in the world is it? Even using the walkthrough with the maps that have numbers for the locations don't help. I looked for a lever near the wheel and cannot find one. Help!

When you first enter the gold dome from the 5-sided rotating room the walkway that you cross is a moveable one. After you apply steam power to it, later in the game you can raise it so that when you cross you will be in the upper part of the gold dome. The switch to do this is on the dome end of the walkway, so after you raise it you have to make your way around to the 5-sided room again.

You have to enter the dome by way of Crater Island. Flick the switch for the pathway and it will raise the pathway to the 2nd level of the dome. Then you must leave by way of Crater Island, go back to Temple Island and rotate the doors so you can get to the dome.

Please do me a big favor and resend your WT and other documents to my new email address. Though I may find the ones you sent to my work address when I arrive on Monday, there's a good chance our firewall wouldn't let them through. I changed my email to my home address so I shouldn't have that problem.

I walked across to the dome and turned around like one walkthrough said. There is supposed to be a lever on the left to raise the bridge. There is none on the left; there is one on the right. Even lifting that does nothing that I can see. The walkway stays right where it is. As far as steam to lift the bridge, I switchd the steam as indicated when in the very first side room off the rotating room. I later switched the steam in the one area right outside the dome in the back and saw the bridge move. The only other place where I had to do something with steam was at the power house, which I did. Where else do I get steam?

I am totally stumped and am beginning to believe I will never finish this game. I sure hope I'm wrong.

You still do not have power to that lever.

There are three places you have to set the steam valves. The one in the cave-like room off the rotating room is for the telescope mechanism across from where you started the game.

As you enter the large steam chamber from the rotating room, turn left and follow a long flight of stairs as you circle halfway around the chamber. Outside, there's a short catwalk extending out from the main walkway, where a vertical pipe is bleeding off steam. Throw the steam valve to turn power on to the west drawbridge which connects the golden dome with Crater Island.

Return to the main catwalk and follow it to the left. Continue around the outside of the giant dome, passing into and through a rock tunnel where you will find another steam valve. This one restores power to the bridge that connects the giant dome with the rotating (gate) room. Now you can raise the walkway.

I finally reached the top level of the gold dome. Once I was told where to find the third steam control, I was able to raise the ramp. I don't remember being told about that lever at all. If I was, I sure missed it.

Now I'm at the marble puzzle; and even though I've got the marbles exactly like they are on the drawing in the walkthrough, the lever won't move. I'll look for further help on this in the event someone else has asked about this. If not, I'll do a separate message for that.

I did receive the walkthrough; but unfortunately, the main document is blank. Hopefully I will be able to see it at work. All of the diagrams are fine though. Do you have one for the marble puzzle?

Are you sure you have the 'colors' correct, as well as the proper lines and holes??? This is very tricky.
Are you pulling/pushing the lever on the wall back of you? It should come down even if the marbles are wrong, but won't give you power.

I finally got this to work. The final steam control via the tunnel was what was missing.

You also don't have to leave by way of Crater Island to get to the raised walkway.

If you walk anticlockwise around the dome from the walkway you have just raised, the first door out of the dome takes you across a second walkway to another entrance to the rotating room. Open this door, and providing you have opened the other door from here to the rotating room, it's quite simple to then reconfigure the rotating room to allow you to walk up the relevant walkway to the top of the gold dome.
