If your computer doesn't meet the game's system requirements, then there probably won't be anything else you can do, unfortunately. Unfortunately what Marian said is true. Minimum system requirements for Kholat Windows: Windows 7 / 8 Processor: Intel Core i3 Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: GeForce GTX 470 Recommended system requirements for Kholat Windows: Windows 8.1 64 bit Processor: Intel Core i5 Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: GeForce GTX 660 TI The ATI equivalent of the GeForce card might work (flotsam's Radeon HD 7800 2048MB worked). But Intel graphics probably won't. Keep in mind that "Minimum" requirements probably means you'll have to turn all the graphics options down to get something usable. You're better off going by "Recommended" if you want the game to look and run as intended. Unfortunately a lot of recent adventure games have used 3D game engines that have higher video card requirements than older adventure games that use 2D or 2.5D game engines. The age of the computer doesn't matter much. Version of Windows doesn't matter much (for most newer games, though some won't work with XP). If you have a low end computer, or one with a low end video card, you have to be very careful about what games you buy. If you want to play every new adventure game that comes out, you'll probably have to buy a new gaming computer -- not just any old computer from Best Buy but something with a mid- to high-end video card that's built for gaming.

To know whether all you need is a new video card, we'd need to know whether your computer has a free PCI-E slot for the video card. Also we'd need to know the wattage of the power supply. Since many inexpensive computers come with weak power supplies that are barely enough to run onboard graphics, the power supply has to be checked before installing a newer video card.
If the computer is an older one that can't take more than 4GB of system memory, you probably want to consider a new computer rather than putting extra money into something that's too slow in several ways. Laptops and computers with tiny cases probably can't be upgraded. But if you have a fairly recent desktop size computer, you may be able to get a few more years out of it by adding a new video card, and possibly also a new power supply and case fan (for cooling).
If your computer is a name brand, we may be able to find the necessary information if you provide the name and model number (not the serial number) of the computer. For example, Dell XPS 8900.
Computer gaming is an expensive hobby if you're interested in "the latest" games. It may not be as bad for adventure games as for action-oriented games, but it's still pretty bad if you're on a budget.

Why don't you let us know what you have now first? Then we can go from there.

Draclvr, how do I let you know what I have? Robert. Download speccy from Piriform (the same company that makes CCleaner) http://www.piriform.com/speccySpeccy will give you most system specs, though not the wattage of your power supply. We need to know things like Processor make, model and speed System memory Video card and how much video memory it has Motherboard (speccy can give you this) If you have a name brand computer, the make and model can be helpful because it can help find motherboard. (Windows version isn't usually important unless you have XP or a 32-bit version of Windows) For example, Processor: Intel i7-3820 4GHz RAM: 12GB Ripjaw DDR3 2133 Mhz Video card: AMD Radeon HD 7800 2048MB You'd have to get the wattage of your power supply by either opening up the case and examining the label on the power supply or by looking at the specs listed on the receipt of your computer. You may also be able to find out the wattage by looking up the model number of the computer if it's a brand name. If you've changed the power supply, the wattage will be different from what it originally was.

The brand and model number would work too.

Hi Jenny100, if I were to upgrade my system to play all the latest ADVENTURE game, which components such as video card etc. would I have to upgrade? Robert. Depends on your current computer. That's why we asked for its specs. For example, if the motherboard can't take more than 4GB of system memory, you're better off buying a whole new computer than putting more money in the old one. If you have one of the small case types, your upgrade options are extremely limited. If you have a laptop, forget about upgrading it. However if it has a normal size desktop case, a reasonably fast processor, 8GB of system memory or more (or capable of adding that much), maybe all you need to do is add a faster video card with at least 2GB video memory, a power supply capable of supporting that video card, and perhaps a case fan (since fast video cards usually run hotter). Did you run speccy? You could also run the BelArc Advisor that Inferno used to use. But having tried both, I liked speccy better. If it helps, the part of Inferno's website about sending specs is still valid, despite that it's over 10 years old now *** Inferno's "Send Me Your Specs" ***

Hello Jenny100, here are my specs:
Windows 7 64 bit SP1 Intel Core is 2300@2.80 GHz If that is the Core i5-2300, it is fine and shouldn't need upgrading for a long while. http://ark.intel.com/products/52206/Intel-Core-i5-2300-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHzYou should probably get more system memory if your motherboard allows it. I don't know of any current adventure games that absolutely need more than 4GB, but there are at least two where they recommend 6GB or 8GB. Unfortunately that isn't very specific. If your computer is a name brand, does it have a make and model number? The type of system memory you get depends on what motherboard you have. Monitor HP2311xi (1024x760 @ 60Hz) Video 512MB Radeon HD 5450(Sapphire/PC Partner) The video card will need upgrading. You'll need one with at least 2GB of video memory. Would you like another Radeon card? We still need to know - The size of the case (is it a "mini" or is it a normal desktop size?)
- The motherboard model or Computer brand and model
- The wattage of the power supply (we may be able to look this up if we know the computer brand and model)
