I had some problems getting the game to play, but realized I was the problem! Enjoying it so far and as I thought, it has a decidedly Mission Critical feel, especially something I've discovered, but I LOVE that old game, and I think I'll love this one, too.

Just need to talk about this one, seek and maybe give help!

Its an absolutely fantastic game and the voice overs are superb just great acting. Better than some of the big budget games. Highly recommended

If you're using the DRM-free version, there's an updated version on the Humble download page, as well as a patch if you've already downloaded the original version. I found it by accident and forgot to pass it on. It's been up since 11-19.

Thanks Uncle Reg but do you happen to know if you have to download both the patch and the program or is the link to the program already patched. I ask this because I want a fresh copy to burn.

It appears that the program file is already patched.

The original version was named prominence_setup.exe and was 1,900,090,556 bytes size.

The updated version was named setup-prominence-complete-1.0.0.29-en.exe and was 1,895,110,211 bytes size.

The patch was named prom-update-to-1.0.0.29-en.exe and was 619,460,709 bytes size.

Note that the update and the patch both have the same 1.0.0.29 version number, so I think it's safe to say that the full program that is currently available for download on the Humble site has already been patched.

If you wanted to be on the safe side, you could download both the updated version and the patch and burn them both along with the original version to a DVD. All 3 should fit on a single DVD, which have a capacity of about 4.7 Gigabytes.

I completely agree about the voice acting! I can almost SEE the characters when they speak and the intermittent sounds (walking. background sounds, etc.)that go along are priceless.

Also wanted to sneak in here to say that if you're going to backup your DRM-free versions of Prominence, you may wish to wait until January because we have a bunch of extra goodies that we plan to release to owners of the game in the coming weeks, including...

If you wait, you can back them all up together. (They'll probably all fit on a single 4.7GB DVD.)

Or, you can make your own special 2-disc edition if you want to burn the extra goodies separately.

I must say that Prominence was fantastic. One of the best games released this year. And might I add the the voice acting is one of the best of all time. Much better than most of the big budget development company's. Thank you for the adventure and experience. I am hoping that we visit the Letarri people more in possible future games.

So if I am not mistaken...just re-downloading the game will be the patched version and no need to add the Patch? I was just about to burn my DRM free copy so thanks for the heads up on waiting for the goodies. Would you lets us know when they are ready? Might there be a Prominence DVD Image included with the goodies please that we can use to print out on our burned disk? I am anxious to listen to the Gag reel with the voice actors, that should be fun.

Yes. The full-game installer includes all the latest patches. (And we'll probably have another patch or two before all is said and done, I think.)

And I'm also happy to report that the first of the goodies is ready!

The complete soundtrack in digital format -- with more than 40 minutes of original music (14 songs from the game + 2 bonus tracks) -- is the first in our series of free bonuses for everyone who has purchased the game.

Steam owners will get an update that adds a new "soundtrack" directory with the music, while Humble Store and Humble Widget purchasers will soon be able to access the soundtrack as a separate download from their download page on Humble.

There was another new patch for the DRM-free version released today. It's up on the Humble download page now. The soundtrack is also there for download.

It's on my review list... but my list is very long :( - bumping this game to the top though! :D)

Good eye, sir! That was the update to improve compatibility with integrated chipsets (particularly Intel HD Graphics models under Windows 10).




We finished editing the outtake reel over the holiday break. Shh! Don't tell anyone. ;) We're trying to decide whether to release it this week, or if we should release the walkthrough/guide (or part of it) this week.
