Is the computer actually turned off or is it in sleep mode?

Make sure it's not set to "wake on LAN" or wake on mouse movement. It's possible a Windows Update changed a setting. You never know when Windows 10 is updating. Check ***this thread at tenforums*** on the subject of Windows 10 waking up the computer. Seems to be a fairly common issue with Windows 10. Sometimes it seems to fix itself, then recurs.

Fast Startup has been the culprit most of the time. I put mine to sleep every night and shut it down completely on Sunday night. Every now and then I will find it on in the morning during the week. So far I'm pretty sure it's the cat! But it's never started up after being shut down completely.

Windows update can bring your computer out of sleep mode to install updates. Also make sure that your power button options are set so the power button is set to shutdown and not sleep or hibernate. Go into the old style control panel in windows 10 and chose Power Options and then select choose what the power button does. You can also turn off fast startup by clicking on change settings that are currently unavailable and then uncheck turn on fast startup. To get to the old windows 7 style control panel go to windows system in the new start menu and you will find it in there.
