I'm in need of some good old-fashioned hidden object games, like the Big City Adventures, or the "Escape" series (only 3, I think). I have all of these, and some of the older ones. I don't prefer the interactive games, like where you need to go from room to room to find a flashlight in a drawer, but you need the key to the drawer which is somewhere else, etc. I just like to relax and find stuff. Mini games are fine, but the game has to be honest. Anybody have any suggestions? I've searched BFG from top to bottom it seems (and that's a LONG journey!) but I guess I'm just too picky. The "Escape" series was just perfect. I don't want to play online, I want to download. Anyone? Much obliged in advance.

That's great! I've been looking for "Secrets of Great Art" for ages, but I had forgotten the name of it. I have the Amazing Adventure series, and they are very good. Also the Mystery P.I. series, but admittedly they do show their age. I will try the Agatha Christie titles to see what they offer. We've got some hits here, and I really appreciate your efforts !!

Thank you for those. I will check out the Exorcist, I wasn't aware of that one. Thanks!! I have always thought that the MCF series was among the very first HOGs to hit the market. Not sure if that's true or not.

Hi, Marian!
We certainly have come a long way! If memory serves me correctly (and that's not always the case), we got 5 hints for each level, and that was it. If you ran out of hints, you were on your own. Now we have storylines, voice-overs, unlimited hints, interactive HO scenes and interesting characters.

Yes, it's remarkable to trace the way the games progressed. And, if I recall correctly, there was a timer in the early MCF HOG games. I think you are right. That is one reason I didn't mention Hidden Expedition: Titanic. I remember having to repeat the same hidden object scenes 3 times because the timer ran out. If you don't mind the timer, some of the objects were very interesting, and I wondered if photos and objects were actual objects that were recovered from the Titanic. You'll probably find out soon enough if a game has a timer if you try the demo. Most of the earliest HOGs did.

My recollection also was that MCF: Huntsville was the first HOG. It's nice to see that I was right for once. The first few Hidden Expeditions were pretty good also, Titanic and Everest come to mind. They were definitely timed, as were the first few in the MCF series. I still play some of the first few MCF, up through Ravenhearst. Thanks for contributing everyone!
