According to Rushes' review of the game here on GameBoomers - assuming you downloaded the game from Steam: For the English language download version, there is a PDF manual inside the Steam folder in Program Files which contains further information about the game. Also from Rushes' review: There are very few puzzles in Dead Mountaineer's Hotel, the game focusing rather more on dialogue. What we do have are a slew of optional mini-games: billiards, skiing, darts and cards. It is not mandatory to play or win these games, but failing to win at billiards, for example, will have an impact upon which of the four game endings you receive.

So, you think my getting "foul" every time is a glitch not something I'm doing wrong? I'm pretty sure the arrows not working in the skiing puzzle is. Onscreen they were constantly blinking. Thank you.

I think that puzzle is terrible. I cannot remember how the foul works. I know I just kept on hitting dem balls. BTW - the best ending is the one with the shawl.

Check your e-mail. I found it in an old mail.

Found the manual which doesn't say anything about the fouls.
Still haven't found any saves.
Also found videos of the different endings.
A couple of people in the Steam discussions said the same thing about getting fouls all the time. I didn't see any response to them though.

The trouble is MaG that I don't print all of the w/t's out anymore like I used to, I just save them to a word doc. I read what I need to do, go back into the game, and promptly forget half of it. If it's printed out and next to me I can follow it better. I finished the game earlier today but still seemed to have a lot of pages left in the w/t. I started reading and saw that there were numerous things I had not even done, such as the generator and dancing. So I spent another 4 hours replaying from one of my saves while trying to follow the w/t. There was still one thing that did not work for me though. I used that disk thing on the spinning globe and saw the 3 x's, went to the picture of the "dead mountaineer" and clicked on the spots but could not get anything to happen. The w/t says "in inventory get photograph album". I didn't have an album in inventory, nor did I see where you say you picked it up. I did see where there was one but commented that I was not much interested in photo albums. Oh well. I'm glad I am done with the game! In the game that I finished (before replaying) Simone was found dead, not Olaf, and du Barnstocre was Beezlebub. Thank you again.
