I thought it was pretty odd too, l4l. It appears that it's not certain if the flour is the source.

I haven't used regular flour in years so I'm safe. Interesting recall. Seems like it could have been any number of ingredients.

Yes, it does seem a bit unspecific, but I'm guessing it's "better safe than sorry." I was just amazed that flour could have e coli. Learned something!
I keep my flour in the freezer...wonder if that kills the bacteria?

Since flour is made from a grain, it's not impossible for e-coli to have gotten into the fields. However, it's more likely that the contamination happened during one of the processing steps. And, no, freezer temperatures do not kill e-coli. http://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2013...and-other-germs

Thanks, Drac. I think it's more likely the e-coli is in some other ingredient but caution is warranted for some folks.
