Well, it's been a few days and still no adverse attention from any of the 'previous' residents. I really think that none of them even watch the news. I have been watching the house and NO ONE has gone by to look at it. Nothing, nada, except the realtor and one of the 'owners' to check things out for the long weekend. Geez. Maybe the News guys scared everyone away by saying it was 'almost half a million'. Probably. ha. Now it will be the EXPENSIVE, empty house on the corner. What fun.

Maybe I should start a 'Go Fund Me' page so I can get rich off of all this effort. I suspect I'd probably get about 2 bucks out of that...ha.

Just send me the MONEY. Oh yes. I'm going to sit on my mailbox for a month waiting. Hey if I get enough, I can buy that stupid house. Yeah, and leave it empty for eternity. Would be great. Speaking of sending money...I was at the post office when the clerk had to deny a lady who was trying to send THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS in a plain letter envelope. NOT a check, money order or anything safe, 3 one hundred dollar BILLS, just in the envelope. The clerk was GOOD. She somehow spotted that there was cash inside and asked the lady about it. Opened the envelope and made her buy a money order. Wow. CASH? In a plain envelope. I keep wondering where she was sending it. Ohhh. I accept cash, money orders, checks, in all denominations. I'll even take it in pennies.

Better yet, you could paint it.

OK good idea, PAINT! Something light and neutral. I'd opt for a pale yellow, white, or like mine, a pale blue gray. OH and some bright red to cover that peach colored front door. It's really tacky. Do you think I could sneak over after midnight and repaint the whole thing without being caught. Maybe I could enlist some of my neighbors as lookouts? That color is driving me nuts. Very pretty, but not for this neighborhood.
I really think that when the news people announced that this house was selling for 'almost half a million' it scared people away. It's not a bad neighborhood, but it's OLD and nobody has a lovely manicured lawn, or awesome landscaping, etc. I still don't know what this rehab company was thinking when they chose the paint colors.
Perhaps we could fly over it with a helicopter and spray it with some bleach that would lighten it?
Tick tock tick tock, time is running on a real buyer, and then the move-in day when I can spy on what kind of furniture they have. You can bet the 'neighborhood thieves' will also be looking to see what they can steal later. Sad to think that way, but NOTHING is safe around here out in the open, and you have to keep your doors and windows locked. I still can't fathom that guy stealing my license plates in broad daylight while I was HOME. Gotta be either on drugs or just plain not scared of anything.
I wonder if the real estate laws say that you have to disclose that this redone house was a DRUG house? Gotta look up the law. That will keep me busy for awhile.

STILL nobody has mentioned seeing me on TV. I thought for sure all the bad guys would have somehow seen the story by now. Maybe later. I have my 'alibi' all set if Bad Gal calls or comes by. It's a believable tale of how I was working undercover and how SHE helped me all along with information. Big thanks, etc. She will buy it.
Had a realtor yesterday with a family but nothing else. Still waiting for someone with big bucks to buy the place so we can have some new drama. I'm getting so bored as are my neighbors (partners in crime). Nothing to keep us entertained for awhile.

Hmmm...SortaB...I understand your dilemma Nothing to keep us entertained for awhile. You guys can always form the local "Trump Campaign Committee" ... that should put you guys on a new platform for the neighborhood edit: I saw you on TV :O)

Ahhhhh! A lady put up an 'open house' sign last night and it's for this Saturday at 1-4pm. Should be lots of people dropping by to look at the infamous house. I'm going to alert Joe Little, my favorite news reporter and see if he wants to do anything with that one. He's always looking for stories and depends on the public for leads. Would be fun to see another story. OH and the AJX company that renovated the house, found the video I did and wrote comments. They were pleased. Free advertising for them. Yup.

Well, it's been over a month now and the infamous house has NOT been sold. Not a lot of lookers. They come in little spatters. The realtors hold 'impromptu' open houses. Just come over anytime (usually late in the afternoon) and put up a few signs right on that corner ONLY, and then open the front door. Mostly I see 'neighborhood' people going in just to look.
Three times I saw a realtor bring a family and have a 'private' showing. Doesn't last long. Maybe 10 minutes tops.
The PRICE is starting to go down down down. Original listing by the 'owner renovators' was $469,900. Then the other realtors started chopping off about $5000. I assume they were willing to give up some of their commissions just for a sale. NOW the 'owners' have cut the price to $455,000! I think they are getting the message.
This is a great looking house in the wrong neighborhood for the price they are trying to get. It's a 1928 house, redone at least the plumbing and lighting, and all the frills, but they left some of the 'yukky' stuff as is. I looked at it before the old guy died, after he died and the squatters were looting it, and then after the renovators finished. Nice looking, high end finishes all over, but little details not attended to.
If it were my house, I'd REPAINT it to match or at least blend in with the neighborhood. At the very least, do something to make the house and fencing a little less clashing. It's horrible as it is, even though it looks nicey new.
The realty sites, which give estimates of value based on neighborhood are now pricing it at about $400k. It might go for that. BUT the property taxes will be about 6k to 7k a year. Horrible. And if the buyers get a mortgage, even with a huge down payment of 70-90k, the monthy mortgage payment will be over $3000! Who can afford that in my neighborhood and if you could, would you really want to live in this OLD part of my town????
I don't think this will sell anytime soon, and probably not for anything close to $400k. I'm guessing about $350ish. It might be worth that.
So boring, nothing exciting now. Gotta find another hobby.
