If you got the game from GOG, then the only posts you should be reading are from their website. If it says on the GOG website that Windows 10 is not supported for this game, then it probably won't play. You can read through the posts at the GOG website and see if any of the things some of the other people who also got it at GOG will work for you.
I'm not sure if the disk version will play on Windows 10 - one of my disks broke and I never replaced it.

The GOG version works perfectly for me in Windows 10, although not officially supported by GOG for that OS. The only glitch I've encountered is that the "yes" and "no" buttons don't appear, for example when you quit the game. The workaround is simply to press "y" for yes and "n" for no.
In the latest GOG version (and disc version with the latest patch) a pop-up window allows you to change a few technical things before starting the game, like playing in software mode. The only thing I've done there is to check "force single buffer" in order for anti-aliasing to work. Thanks for that information. That workaround you mentioned above is what I had been reading about - and it's a very simple one, too.

That's great - maybe that one would work for Maggie. Although I think she already purchased it again from Steam. Hopefully one or the other will work.
I always chuckle at us - gamers, that is. The things we won't do to play the games we love!
