I have been trying to play discworld noir on my windows 7 64 bit machine. I read that I could play it using virtual PC so I downloaded that from microsoft. Now what do I do? I see virtual PC on my start menu but don't know the first thing about how to get the game to run using it. I am very limited with computer knowledge so please, give detailed instructions! Thanks so much.

You will need a Windows 95 or 98 CD.
The Windows 98 OEM disc that doesn't need a boot disk is easiest to use.

Since you're not able to set up Virtual PC yourself, and I assume you don't know anyone who can do it for you, buy the game from this eBay seller, who includes a custom installer with the original game discs, similar to what GOG does with DOS games

Thanks, but I am not smart enough to get it to work - but, I did get discworld noir to work finally. I had to mess around with it quite a bit and it did crash quite often, but, finally was able to play it again. What an enjoyable game!

What did you do to get Discworld Noir to work. If there is an easier way to get it working on Windows 7 than what Lagavulin posted, the information might help someone else.

after much reading about it, i got the new file tin3 dxd from game copy world. i didn't have the right zip file on this computer to get it, so, I got it on my old computer and then sent it to myself. I took out the old file and put that new one in. however, I always had to start a new game and I had to start it in small window. If I did it in large window, it would always crash. I waited until Carlotta came to his office before I could make it big again. If I wanted to resume an old game, then it would work. Well, usually - it still crashed once in a while. but, the main thing was to start it as a new game each time in small window.

ah, thank goodness that I posted this. I just tried to get discworld noir to work for me and it kept crashing - and I knew that I had posted what worked for me here so I looked it up - and I had to start in small windows. I don't know why that would make a difference, but, now I am playing the game. whew. thank goodness I remembered this thread!
