Rhem I SE is available for purchase Here. RHEM is a first person adventure featuring brain-teasing puzzles for your PC. You arrive in the world of Rhem by a stolen rail car. For a moment, you must simply sit tight, unable to escape. Then, the car begins to roam this world, revealing its mysteries, little by little. You soon learn that the only possibility for your safe return home is a letter consisting of four hidden fragments, which you must not only find, but also put together. Upon disembarking the rail car, and now in search of the letter, you will explore the land of Rhem...
RHEM is a graphic adventure (point-and-click, pre-calculated first person). The virtual world is shown through the eyes of the players. The environment consists of individual pictures covering a 360-degree view.
This Special Edition features many new puzzles and areas to the original game. In addition many enhancements from the sequels like "color-picker" or "skip mode" have been added to "RHEM I SE: The Mysterious Land"
- explore the land of Rhem - mind-bending puzzles - non-violent story, non-linear gameplay - color picker feature for colorblind people - Skip mode - supports 6 languages (English, german, french, italian, polish and russian)
Happy Gaming! Ana

While I wouldn't want to be saddled with the Steam interface for the Rhem games, I'm glad to hear this for Knut's sake. He's been trying to get them on Steam for some time.
If anyone is not familiar with Rhem, go to the link Ana put up above and watch the preview. What a wonderful game!

Ana (or anyone else) do you know if there are Special Editions of Rhem II and Rhem III in the works also that may hopefully show up on Steam?
I had purchased all 4 games but never got around to playing them. Here is what is on Knut's website: We are currently working on an iOS version of RHEM I SE and on the desktop version of RHEM II SE.” Ana

Dear friends, Dear Ana, Dear MaG, thank you, that you sticked to Rhem for so many years. You may ask why I do all the SE versions and not making the next Rhem5? The idea of Rhem 5 was an united area of all previous Rhem-areas + the new Rhem 5 area. The idea was to connect the areas and the puzzles so you had to go back to Rhem II SE (for example) to solve puzzles in Rhem V (and so on). [a complex network of all Rhems] Therefore I had to adapt the (old) programming of the original Rhem (1) to the almost similar programming of Rhem 2, 3 and 4.
I started with Rhem IV SE because after some years of pause it was the closed to start again programming. Than I finished Rhem I SE this January. (The reason because it need 6 month to get into Steam was the change from "steam greenlight" to "steam direct".) The next step is Rhem II SE, a renewed and extended version of Rhem2 (I'm working on it). [Then Rhem III SE (I'm also working on it.)]
But now comes the bitter part. This spring Adobe cut all support on "Adobe Director" and announced the end of this software. (That's the tool I use to program the Rhem games.) Since months I'm looking for a substitute. So far I can say I'll using an other software (maybe Unity) for Rhem V. But this means Rhem V will not be the huge connection of all Rhem-areas and -puzzles I had in mind. Rhem V will start where Rhem IV SE ended.
But my idea is still a connection of all Rhem-areas and -puzzles in a Rhem I SE, II SE, III SE an IV SE - Tetralogy. This will made in Adobe Director but maybe only for Windows because Apple is closing down the support of 32bit applications next year. The single-versions on Rhem II SE and Rhem III SE will be the steps to this Tetralogy. (The goal of the Tetralogy is finding the entrance to Rhem V but Rhem V will be a new start, made with a new programming software.)
I'll stop now all the tech-talking but unfortunately tech-things is always a huge part of the daily work (and problems) of a game like Rhem.
To be honest, I'm also curious how the world and "story" of Rhem evolve in the future.
Thank you again, Kind regards, Yours Knut Mueller

Thank you so much for stopping in and updating us, Knut! What a treat! I hope that your vision comes together. Technology is forever changing and not always for the better. Much of my favorite software becomes way to complicated for my use and the versions I like, are no longer supported. Looking forward to whatever you create. Ana

Knut thanks for the update on your Rhem games. I did see that the App Store on my IMac computer now has Rhem I SE as well as Rhem IV SE. I do have all your original Rhems on CDs and still play them on my old Windows computer. I am now ready for the SE version downloads!
Rhem is a wonderful game series. I am so looking forward to Rhem V. Now that I'm in my seventies I appreciate the wonder of adventure gaming in Rhem even more.
My hat is of to you Knut! Thanks!
