I,m on the walkway (Raleigh's walk) to Wakefield tower. I've been shooting icedarts with a crossbow toward the sentry on duty down below while he's standing at his guard hut. I've aimed both high and low hoping to hit his neck. (its a tranquilizer icedart). But no matter what I'm obviously missing for he then turns and shoots me--DEAD ending my game. Do I just keep trying hoping for that 1 in a million shot or is there a simpler way that I'm missing to do.

I haven't played Traitor's Gate, but here is what one walkthrough tells you to do at this spot. If this doesn't help, there is apparently a saved game right after this spot at GamesOver which you might try downloading: SPOILER

Get out your crossbow, drag the box of tranquilizing ice darts onto the screen and click on one to load it in the crossbow. Click on the checkmark, then when the guard is motionless next to his guardhouse on the right end of his short patrol path, carefully shoot him in the neck.

Did you go all the way to the end of the walk next to the Wakefield Tower?

I fluked it. Initially I had selected just the crossbow and the icedart pack WITHOUT clicking on a dart. I made the mistake of thinking that was all there was to it. After having sent my help message to this forum I tried it once more but this time my cursor fell on a dart in the package. And to my astonishment a dart floated over to the crossbow. Got the guard and now on my way to other misfortunes. (The poor president has received more failed operation messages than I care to remember).
