Okay, this is one poorly designed puzzle! I didn't even know it WAS a puzzle except by reading the walktrhough. There is no feedback whatsoever that I'm doing anything right (or wrong) or any indication that I'm supposed to do anything at all. I'm talking about the puzzle where you use the candle to see a hiden picture in the painting at the Alembic Bar. I have the candle, but it dosn't appear to be 'lit'. When I pass it Sloooowly (as the walkthrough says) over the painting , nothing at all happens. There are no 'grears' icon to even inidicate you can interact with the painting! I have exausted all conversation with Bebe , but still nothing. Am I supposed to see a 'lit' candle? Am I suppoesed to see anything happen when I pass the candle over the picture? Can some kind soul please help. Louis P.S. If anyone has the email address of the idiot that designed this puzzle, let me know! I want to give him or her a peice of my mind!

Lou, Yes, you DO have to have a lit candle for the puzzle to work. When you pass a lit candle VERY SLOWLY over the fresco, white drawing/lines and letters will appear. When you talked to Bebe, did you show her the picture of Baphomet? If you still are having problems, I think I have a saved game here - the only thing is for me to check which path you are following at the moment. MaG

Louis -
How are you doing?
This puzzle was infuriating to me. But let's get to the chase first.
I don't know that you can pick up a non-lit candle from the table. If you pick up a candle, move to a closeup of the fresco, and see a glow in the area you are moving the candle, it's lit.
Things that you move over, e.g., letters or pieces of a structure, will appear in your sketchpad. Fortunately this is not something you have to complete in one sitting. When you get tired, save a game and you can start from that point tomorrow.
The parts on your sketchpad are moveable. They can be dragged about and combined. This is done with varying success. Some have reported problems moving letters.
Once appropriate pieces are joined, they are locked.
It's a pixel search. Don't you just hate those?

Depending on which path you take, the key may, or may not be in 507. If not, return to the Eaton apartment, and take a close look at everything.
Hint: This will require a double close-up of something you see on the wall.

I don't think the candle will ever look lit in inventory. It only has to be lit when you move it over the fresco
