Hi I chose Lone Wolf because I'm divorced without children. I'm an only child myself. My dad had one brother who never married and never had any children and he passed away in 1996. My mother was an only child. Then I lost both of my parents in 1998. So hence the user name Lone Wolf. On the bright side I can hold a family reunion in a phone booth! However I really don't look forward to holidays at all. Christmas is the worst of all holidays.
I do have a girlfriend now and she has a daughter that is 11. We spend allot of time together. And I have allot of good friends that treat me like family.
Lone Wolf

I chose mystmum when I signed up to the Ubisoft forums to solve a technical problem I was having with Exile. I'm a stay at home mum, and love the Myst series and I'm lazy with the caps key, so mystmum worked fine. And now I answer to it all over the net, so why change?
Don't follow me, I'm lost too!

This is a great thread - I always wondered where people got their user names. Mine's very simple - it's my name. Well, Barbara is my name, but I use Barb on the internet because it's short & simple. Hi, Johnny, I'm like Tigger - I always think of Richard Thomas when I see "Johnboy"! Syd - I used to think you were a man until I think you mentioned a husband one time. Cheers, Barb

Well let's see, my email username, jgsax, has a much more interesting reasoning. My stepdad who raised me was Pete Green, so I went by Johnny Green most of my life even though I was not adopted so my legal name is Richmond. So when I returned to my home town I became Johnny Green again (except for legal stuff which confuses everyone even me). I am also a professional musician playing saxophone in various bands. Thus jgsax (Johnny Green Saxophone).
However, my username here is just because when I first joined, I was so used to game players being in their teens or early 20's that I figured I would be the oldest on the board. Pleasantly surprised I found a much more mature and enjoyable group here later. Anyway, that's why I chose oldman. Incidently, although not the oldest, I rank amoung them having been brought into this world in 1936.
Probably more than you asked for.

Mine's just plain boring, it's the city where I live. My maiden name was Diane Spencer and I tried all sorts of variations like Princess Di, Lady Di, etc, but all were rejected. So in desperation I came up with Bristol, figuring no one else would have it and now I'm stuck with it. Can I change it when I go back to Canada next year?

This is fascinating stuff... I need a more interesting username that has a cool anecdote behind it! I wonder if everyone would be interested in posting pictures of themselves. That would be a great thread too! I don't know though, maybe not everyone has the right camera for it or has a scanner.

Josefien is my real name, allthough you write it Joséphine. In the Netherlands I always use the name boombever. But as I got strange reactions on that nick when I used it on American sites, I decided to use my real name. I like trees and the phellodendron is a tree, wich name in Dutch means beavertree. So I liked it the other way: treebeaver and in dutch it is boombever. Tssss what a long story. Thank you all for your patience. josefien

My story is not original at all. Let's just say I've had a love of basketball since I was quite young.

I've had my "user name" for quite a while (much longer than since I've been with GB) My son, Jason gave it to me. September 13,1999 to be exact. A few of you know the story of my name...but for those of you who don't. Here goes: My youngest boy, Jason, had been known to many of his friends while in highschool as "Inferno". Whether it was for the fiery light deep within his beautiful dark eyes or for his "vulcan-like" passion and temperment which he possesed for those things he loved most deeply: family, friends and country. So, this was his nickname in the real and virtual worlds. On September 13,1999 (4 days before I would leave my beloved New York and head for Texas with my Braveheart (sigh!)), my beautiful and loving boy left for the Navy and the start of what was to be the greatest "adventure" of his life. Before he walked out of our home, he bid a heartfelt goodbye to his stepfather and then turned to me. He drew me into his strong arms and hugged me as though he would break me in two. "I love you, Mom. Take care of you." With the tears of a mother's love, I reached up and kissed him on the cheek. "Take care of you" I replied. (A phrase that was something Jason I always said to each other.) As I gazed up into his beautifully seraphim like face, all at once those eyes caught me. How could someone so positively angelic looking have such fire in his eyes? "Jason," I laughed through my tears, "Your nickname "Inferno" surely suits you!" He replied with a wink,"Don't you know where I got that from, Mom? It's from you...my friends have always told me that I have your eyes, not to mention your temper! So while I'm away I want you to take my name "Inferno" and use it...It's yours now." So, when I moved to Texas I started to use the name "Infernoj13usa" - Inferno = for fire in his eyes
- j = for Jason
- 13 = a magical number of protection for him
- usa = to remember his passion for the country that he holds so dear.
...and that's the rest of the story. Inferno

Hi CNW400, Microsoft Train Simulator is fantastic! There are "missions" that you can complete or you can just pick a train and a route and drive where you want. I find it alot of fun. I love trains. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who even has a slight interest in trains. It really is just like driving a real train. Here is a link to the official site: http://www.microsoft.com/games/trainsim/ It can now be found for $19.99 at many stores and online also. Microsoft Train Simulator 2 is in development now and should be released near the end of this year. Rusty

My username derives from the fact that I used to ride Japanese motorcycles. I think hubby suggested it as my "handle" on the CB. It kinda stuck. Kay

Laura, are you feeling ok? You're making these strange noises. Are you hung over from yesterday's party in the Mixed Bag forum? I know you're just trying to bump this up so more people will respond to this thread. Guess I'll add in my 2 cents.... My username is pretty unoriginal, but I use it every place that I need a username. dmtomchick = Dawn Marie Tomchick Pretty boring, I know. But it looks like I'm not the only one here who did it, so I don't feel so bad.
