Its seems a few people were disappointed in the Omega Stone. I need to play the first one before I play OS.

I haven't played TOS yet, I'm hoping to enjoy it. I was disappointed in Myst Exile too. Beautiful graphics, but it just seemed like huge connecting puzzles and soooo cold. It lacked something the others had. I'll start it over one of these days and give it another shot though. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood. I was also disappointed in Chateau D'or. I kept a watch on the screenshots and just drooled. Although it was a pretty game, the length and the school work were less than desirable. And I payed over $40 for it. ~Dee

For me, I have to say Crystal Key and Schizm. Schizm because the disk, and replacement disk, were faulty, caused severe lags during playing (something I never experienced with the Myst series or ROTS). I have yet to continue playing Schizm because of the disks. While the graphics of Crystal Key were nice, the logic, and determining, of what needed doing left much to be desired.

I was extremely disappointed in Sherlock Holmes, Mystery of the Mummy as I didn't feel it properly represented old Sherlock at all. In fact Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (not sure of spelling) is probably turning over in his grave as we speak.
Also, although most probably consider this more action than adventure I was very disappointed in Lara Croft's newest, TROAD.

I would have to say 9 it remains my biggest dissapointment, mostly because like all of us BAAGS victims I could not wait to get my hands on it and kept playing and playing waiting for it to get better and it just didn't. So sad Karen

I really looked forward to enjoying Rhem. It took a week for EB games to ship it from another store for me, and I couldn't wait to start it. Boy was I disappointed! I kept getting lost, but it felt like Plumbing 101 to me, yech!

'Of Light and Darkness' really put me into a blue funk. It was about the 4th game I bought, so beautiful and exotic. Also bought the (two pound??)book, and spent literally WEEKS reading it, trying to figure out the gameplay theory. When I finally loaded it, I meandered around the opening plaza for about an hour attempting to somehow get the story going, then sadly removed it from the 'puter forever and myself to sleep.

Crystal Key by a long shot! I still shudder when I think about it. Hugs, Cheryl

Omega Stone
RotS is one of my very favorite games, and I was sooooooo excited about TOS. Called EB every day to see if it had arrived yet. And then when we finally got to play it....
dull drab depressing boring
and completely lacking in all the FUN part of the puzzling that made RotS such a joy.
I can't say that Schizm was as much of a disappointment because we didn't have all the built-up anticipation for it. But if ever there was a game that failed to live up to its potential, Schizm has to be it.

I agree with you Jenny100. I love Shivers, still play it, but Shivers Two was so different. I especially didn't like the videos that you had to watch. The timed cave puzzle was the first timed puzzle I ever encounterd and I was terrible at it. ~Dee

I suppose it would be any game I didn't finish, cause I don't have enough time to finish games that suck, when there are better ones waiting to be played! These include Crystal Key, Beyond Atlantis, Dracula Resurrection, Riven (OK I finished that one - didn't suck, just too hard), King's Quest 8 for all the running around and fighting. I think KQ8 tops them all, because it followed 7 great classic games.

A much as I like point and click first person games, my vote has to go to Omega Stone. This was one game that did not measure up to the hype it created. Please do not misunderstand me, it was not a bad game but it was not nearly as good as they sad it would be. TROS was such a good game, in spite of the fact that some say the graphics were grainy. I think that we were lead to expect too much from Omega Stone. The story was chopped up and branched into unfinished sidelines. The wanderings underground were depressing and the fact that we had to traverse the hedge maze several timed did not endear the game to me. The end was abrupt and than we were treated to the ramblings of an unsympathetic character to top it all.

Riddle of the Sphinx- I couldn't wait to play it, but found that it didn't match up to the games i've played so far. There were some long, dark, tedious passages to get thru and all the rooms were sort of alike- ROTS couln't even begin to measure up to the game I'm playing now-Thief the Dark Project, where each level has an entirely original environment-or say, Zork nemisis.
There are so many excellent older games out there, It should be difficult to find a loser if one shops carefully enough.
People do not remember how much you know, only how you make them feel finished Gray Matter, playing Alice Madness returns and Deponia
