Congratulations, Laura. I wasn't even considering buying this one. Now I'll have to add it to my already bulging, ever expanding list of games wanted. Jema

Thanks y'all and nope Sherlock has a decidedly "english" rather than Georgian accent. This place and those here are so wonderful *group hugs*

So what exactly did you do Laura?
You're like the writer? You helped translate for the English version? Does that mean you speak more than one language?
More details...

So what exactly did you do Laura?
A ton of writing I would get scripts of cutscenes, one liners or dialogues and there are uhmm a lot of characters more than 36. In game documents, letters and such. I would look at the translation from French and at the original french too. I would re-word it so that it flowed with the intended plot, was consistant with Sherlockian victorian english - just rearrange the whole thing or rewrite it.. Then I would get with Sergei ( Sergei Geraschenko, The project Coordinator for Frogwares, Silver Earring) and go over the changes. So we would work on it. Line by line, passage by passage. I had input on other things to do with the game. Well when you start doing one thing - you get involved. It is still ongoing - though we are getting close to nothing left to edit. I am working on some final documents, dialogue and materials now. I will tell you that as I worked the scripting I twisted and turned with the plot the first read through. It is a very devilishly twisty tale. One of the best Sherlock stories I have read. One of the main reasons I got so quickly and deeply involved with this team and this game was because of the brilliance of the original story for this game. I think Holmes fans will be thrilled as will most adventure gamers. A great deal of care was taken to insure the game was consistant with the tone and structure of the books. I had tons of "sherlock Holmes phrases on papers all over my office and other notes to cross check. I am also a "real fan" of this character and the related works. And have read my personal copy of the "Complete Sherlock Holmes" at least 6 times cover to cover, over time. So we were all fans working on this game.

Dear Laura, Congratulations! I have SO been wondering what you have been up to, since you mentioned that you were helping get a game over here (and Sherlock, to boot, my favorite at this time, I think). That's quite a bit of "helping", young lady. I think you can say now that you have been intimately involved with Mr. Holmes, Laura. Hee! P.S. Welcome, Sergei. It's always exciting for us when the people who make the games come to visit. We can't wait to see your newest game!!

I think I would worry if there was a character named Laura Could be a lot of trouble Thanks Sergei for being such a perfect writing companion and for sharing cyber tea late late at night. And tell TheHood he is pretty cool guy too. Thanks to all for being so wonderful. Mind you I will be on the other side of things waiting for reviews of this game. *faint* Thanks KathyO - Well..I always call it helping but helping covers a lot of ground I do think that the way this story winds it way will surprise many if not most. I was reading through scripts and thought I knew what was what several times and boy was I wrong! More surprises in store as we will soon have: - news about a US publisher *cough* ,
- a special developers cafe
- and a surprise guest reviewer for the publishers demo.
You will never guess who is writng it - but it will be great

Sherlock himself can't be writing the review Laura - that's crazy talk - he's like, from the olden days, and well, not real. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" /> Although, don't we have a member on the board called Sherlock? This mystery is mystifying me.

Sherlock himself can't be writing the review Laura Nope, though that would be an extraordinary feat or perception. It is a very real person and they are well - I just think they will be a surprise. That's all.
