Lovely !! Discworld Noir is one of my favourite games too, mbday630, and I have re-played it several times I've never possessed Edna and Harvey the Breakout so am not familiar with it but wonderful that you can play it with your Grandchildren

Hi Mad, I have read that you did not possess Edna and Harvey, would you like to have mine? I never played the game, cause it's not my cup of tea ... Edna doesn't even has a nose... I would send it to you for free. Have a nice day, Rob

Hi Mad, I have yust sent the package. It is nice of you that you offer to pay for the postage. Normally I would be inclined to refuse, but as my finances have seen better days, I would appreciate it if you could pay half. That would amount to 6 euro's. I will send you a PM with my paypal. Hope the game arrives savely and you will like it! Have a nice gaming day, Robert P:S: Thanks, oldbroad for the friendly words!

Hello Mad, That was incredibly quick! Am glad the game arrived savely. I have bought "Layers of Fear" again on GOG,(it was on sale) cause my Steam one didn't install anymore. I never finished this one cause of the "Layers" of Doors that were a game spoiler! Since yesterday I have made good progress (many a door hás been openend ... ) P.S: I am a clumsy package wrapper, and tape often ends up on my fingers, instead of on the package. ... Have a good day,Rob

Have fun with King's Quest, Mad! Do you play the originals or the remakes when you replay? Even though the fan remakes are great, I always have to play the originals when playing through the full series, as I consider those the versions that "actually happened." King's Quest VI is still the best, I think.

I'm thinking replays of Scratches and The Arrangement coming up next. Scratches will actually be The Director's Cut which I did not play before but I still consider this a replay.
Hopefully, they will both work with no problems. I recently loaded The Arrangement on my 7 year old Win 7 64 bit, and I couldn't get any sound.

I’ve never played The Arrangement, oldbroad, but I've played both the original Scratches and the Director’s Cut. I hope you enjoy whichever games you decide to go with I vary my plays of King’s Quest games, venus. Sometimes I use the original disks in Win98SE and sometimes I use the GOG tweaked versions in WinXP or Win7. [ Without physically checking, however, I’m not sure what fan versions I actually have !! ]

Mad, it sounds as though you play the original versions then, regardless of whether you use your disks or the GOG copies. This is the "correct" way to play the series, I think. There are also these installers that allow you to run your original games on more modern computers - http://www.sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewSierraInstallers.html#KQ. I use these for my Roberta Williams Collection, and they allow the games to run perfectly for me on both Windows 7 and Windows 10. Just another option in case you ever want to use it.

Oh, I DO also have access to those Sierra Installers etc., venus. Grabbed them yonks ago - as soon as I heard about them My favourites in the KQ series are 4,5,6 and 7 - with 6 being my very favourite

My last two games played are "Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders" and "Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father 20th Anniversary Edition". Liked both games offering more traditional gameplay. The first one had gamepad support but the latter not, so lots of mouse clicking lately.
AC was more like a casual game and little too much guided tour like, you simply could not go wrong. I prefer Sherlock Holmes games over it.
Never played original GK, started gaming as late as 2006. The remake offered decent graphics and somewhat challenge gamewise. Had to take a peek at walkthrough three times. For the mimic and policeman, coded message on the wall at the graveyard and drumming message near the end. The last one was actually too easy to even try, he he. Expected something more complicated.
I guess it's now time for an action oriented game, thinking of Resident Evil IV...

I'm down to the very last remnants of a re-play of Black Dahlia and am about to start a re-play of one of the King's Quests games. And last year, I re-played both the games you mention, TJL !! I really ought to be starting one of the many "never yet played" in my collection but I keep getting side tracked by lovely oldies
