I'm looking to buy a new home computer mainly for adventure gaming. I was looking at a Dell Inpspiron 64 bit 8GBP 1600 kHz. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What kind of adventure gaming do you want to do? Old games? New games?
I ask because many of the new adventure games are requiring stand alone video cards. What model is the Dell Inspiron you are looking at? Is it a laptop?

It is a desktop. Games like Tomb Raider SIberia Rhem Myst Have not been able to play new games because my computer is so old. I thought about a laptop but did not think it would be as good.

And you would be correct about the laptop! But it still would be very helpful if you could post the model number or other ID for this Dell Inspiron... they have many of them.

It sure does! Be right back.
EDIT: Well, this computer is not made for gaming at all. First of all, it's a slim case which would greatly limit your ability to ever upgrade if you wanted. It has a very low end processor and uses integrated video.
Perhaps a better question would be, what is your budget?

Just curious, since kaki only needs the desktop and not the monitor, keyboard, etc. and she is interested in Adventure games and not these High End High maintenance shoot em up, kill, kill games, couldn't she get a decent one built at eCollegePC for say maybe $500. Yes the kaki would have to maybe anti up another $100, but at least it would take less longer to save up the difference. Just a thought.

Thank you Starcom. That sounds like another good option and easier to reach. I will check this out as well.

Ecollege was the first place I checked and the cheapest she could get one built there with a stand alone video card was about $750. She mentioned wanting to play new adventure games, but not being able to because her computer was too old. Almost all new adventure games are requiring a stand alone video card.

Games like Tomb Raider Syberia Rhem Myst Have not been able to play new games because my computer is so old. Are you talking about "updated" versions of these games or reboots? Or the original versions on disc?

Good question because some of these are not going to be able to be played from original discs on a new computer.

The games I mentioned are original ones I've played on disc.I haven't been able to play new adventure games because of my old computer. I listed these games as examples of the type of games I play.
