...to be promptly released in 2025 I'm excited, but at the same time cautious. Bethesda has hit the majority of the major themes around Tamriel in TOS online. I sincerely hope this doesn't turn out to be an abbreviated origin story cluttered with unrelated side quests - Not to be too cynical. Other than that, I'm ecstatic.

Well, actually, while I posted the LOL emoticon with that line it may not be far from the truth.
They are releasing Starfield first, then "building towards the development of the game we keep asking about." Which means that it's probably still in the concept stages.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it's another 3 years out yet...

I'm so excited about this! I know it'll probably take a long time, but just seeing this announcement in my inbox today was really neat! : )
Btw I just realized its for iOS and ironically I was wishing that I could play the other ES games on my iPad mini, so I'm doubly excited now!

The other Bethesda game that is set for a mobile platform is Elder Scrolls Blades and will be launching this upcoming fall.

Well, I know I'll be waiting...but I still have a game of Skyrim going, and no end in sight. I wonder how many thousands of hours I've spent in the Elder Scrolls games? I shudder to think.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

And even less indication of game play style or multi-player vs. single-player. (please, please, please let it be single-player! I can't stand the chaos of other people playing in MY game!) I agree.

I think it's safe to assume that this will be single player since all the online Elder Scrolls games are released under the Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) banner, and they only just released Summerset. This being The Elder Scrolls VI means it's in line with the single player campaigns. Now, that said, given the way they have been administering Fallout 4, there may be an online aspect for an account sign-in and mod purchases through their workshop. It will be interesting to see if they open it up to with a Creation Kit like past games to allow modification development. They seem to be going down a pay to play road...

If it's pay to play, they just lost me as a customer. I did that with GW2 for a while. It's just wrong and such a waste of real money on virtual junk. Dumb move on my part. Sorry, but my soapbox got triggered. (Getting off soapbox now) I love what Gremlin said about not having other player's chaos in my game. That's so true. Well, fingers crossed for a great single-player game for the PC.

I was surprised to see the Creation Kit items in Skyrim this time around. Made sure my mods weren't from there. Pay to play just seems so... Android.

I tried but just couldn't get into Skyrim. I uninstalled it long ago. Never played any of the others.

When Skyrim was released, Todd Howard made a point of mentioning that they work to make each successor of the Elder Scrolls campaigns that much better. I'm hoping the exponential improvement that occurred between Oblivion and Skyrim will hold true for this latest entry. It's hard to tell from the teaser, but the landscape does look like something that would come out of the "Creation Engine" which was a variation of the early Gamebryo engine used to make Skyrim. I would think they've taken some of the learnings from talented mod developers in building this next world. I think I'm going to take a few days off work as soon as this is released.

Oh thanks, Trailmystic! I was confused!! : ). That's great tho that we'll have two games to look, forward to, although I don't think my iPad mini will be up for the iOS game when it comes out. I wonder what the ES6 game will be called btw?
