Hi and welcome to gameboomers! Im sure you will stick around for a while... Im playing my games on a Mac as well and have to resort to using VirtualPC for PC games even though i don't recommend it. Personally i haven't played RHEM before nor read any reviews enough to recommend any similar games for you. However, i have no doubt that in soon time many of our lovely members will advise. Do these games neccesarily have to be for the Mac only? Or are you open to the PC versions as well?

Riddle of the Sphinx has a Mac version. Timelapse has a Mac version. Myst, Myst Masterpiece, and RealMyst have Mac versions, though you need a fast computer for RealMyst. Riven works with either PC or Mac. Myst III: Exile works with either PC or Mac Morpheus works with either PC or Mac. Chemicus, Physicus, and Bioscopia all work with either PC or Mac. I've heard there is a Mac version of Amber, but it's very hard to find. Alida is made for Mac only. There are separate versions for OSX and for "OS9 and earlier." http://www.alidagame.com/

Well, I don't know how long you've been playing adventure games but if you haven't played RIVEN (or the other Myst games)they are all available for Mac.

CD Access has Mac games. Under Movies, I recommend Gadget. Under Role Playing (these are adventure games they just put them under the wrong heading. ) I recommend Titanic An Adventure Out of Time, Journeyman Project 3, Myst Exile, Dust, Crystal Key.~Dee

Welcome to GameBoomers. I would recommend all of the above and also Zork Grand Inquisitor which is also available at MacPlay along with Real Myst. Zork Grand Inquisitor is a very humorous and very well done adventure game. Take care and have fun, Mr. Bill

Secrets of the Luxor is also a Mac/PC hybrid.
I suggest that after playing ZGI go to Mr. Bill's site and get his list of "Fun Things To Try", and have lots more fun with the game. It's hilarious.
Hugs, Cheryl

Hi minstrum.... The disease GameBoomers suffer from is called BAAGS. You can read about it Here. As for VPC....I had the old one and it ran like a turtle. I understand the newer version is much faster, but like you I have heard conflicting opinions and.....not all games will run on it. I started gaming with a Power Mac. I still have it. All my old favorites play on it. After the VPC failed for me I finally broke down and got a PC. I'm so glad I did. Not many games ported to the Mac any more. You can get a brand new Dell for $499 as opposed to $129 for the VPC. You still have a lot of Mac games to play for a while though. BTW..... Welcome to GameBoomers! Sorry I forgot to mention it earlier. ~Dee

Some other Mac adventure games that I've played: STARSHIP TITANIC (my first adventure game and all-time favorite) GOLDEN GATE (a mystery that takes place in San Francisco) TIMESCAPE: JOURNEY TO POMPEII DERRAT SORCERUM (novice wizard saves the world) SAFECRACKER (terrific puzzle game) THE SPACE BAR (funny character interactions; tough puzzles but good) On my shelf waiting to be played are THE MESSENGER, THE DIG, and THE FEEBLE FILES.

We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.
