Does anyone know if this game can be played on XP or ME? And is it a point and click game I just found it on e-bay and don't know much about it.

Here's a review from Quandary. It seems to be point and click -- the review doesn't state that directly, but I'm pretty sure that keyboard control would have been flagged and discussed. This is one of those love-it-or-hate-it games. You might want to give it a miss unless you especially enjoy quirky, unconventional games.

I don't see the game on Inferno's XP compatibility list. Perhaps someone who's tried it on XP will post with appropriate experiences in attempting to do so.

It was one of the two worst games I ever played, so I guess that puts me squarely in the hate it category. laugh I bought it when it came out though, many moons ago, so don't know if it will play on XP- can't check because in a fit of pique I threw both of those nasties away. rotfl

I was only able to get it to run on 98SE. I believe it installed on ME and XP but would not run if I remember properly. I can't say whether or not it is any good cause I only played it for about an hour and never got back to it. I thought what I saw was interesting. Need to load it up and check it out again.

Okie dokie, I can relate I've often felt the impulse to use some of mine for frisbees, but just put them back on the shelf. Just can't throw away a game. lol

I think I threw away a game once that was called Legacy. It may have been ten years ago. Does anybody remember this disaster? It sounded very promising and spooky and I eagerly loaded it on my system. It was supposed to be an old mansion full of rooms you could enter and either pick up inventory or encounter monsters of some sort. Every door had some kind of surprise behind it. The problem was that early on in the game, the lights went out in the mansion and you had to wander around in the dark through all these rooms trying to find a way to make the lights come back on. I thought the game was defective so I called the company and asked for another copy. I was floored when they told me that it was supposed to be that dark. Oh well, that was the end of that because you can't dodge monsters you can't see!!

I am one of the few people who loved this game - especially the organ puzzle. I think most people love it or really, really hate it - I mean really hate it. I'll admit it can be pretty frustrating but when I finally got that @&#^$%%&*Q organ puzzle to work I felt I had made some major accomplishment. I played it on WIN98, so dan't help on specs. It's is point and click. If you can get it cheap - then go for it.

If I can get it cheap enough I will and if necessary just add it to my can't play list.
On that Legacy game I think I've seen it on e-bay but it was to old or something cause I'ld probably bought it if it wasn't. smile

Count me among the few that really liked this game although Salty really got on my nerves after awhile. I played it on 98 and remember running into a few glitches.

happy trails,

Carolyn

duh I guess I woke up in a new world where I can't spell. Or maybe it was the eggnog, but I didn't know it was spiked. But I'll blame it on old age. blush

Your adventure game buying habit is perfectly normal -- absolutely nothing to worry about. As someone with total objectivity in the matter, let me reassure you! Don't even give it a second thought. wink

Hi folks,

One technical problem with 9: The Last Resort that hasn't been discussed is that it doesn't recognise above 32MB RAM. So if you have more memory than this the installation process tells you you don't have enough memory frown

In the past you could send your original disk in to Infogrames/Atari and get a replacement but they don't seem to be offering that service any more.

Here is the FAQ from the publishers website: you can email support by clicking the button at the bottom of this web page.

Cheers

Gordon
