Hi Uncle Reg. I have no idea how to tell whether or not a DVD game is DRM Free  As for Steam .... the description for the game says it is also available from Steam (as a download). I'm assuming Steam is not required to play the DVD version but BrownEyedTigre will probably be able to clarify that ....
