I've never understood how to freeze time or use the booster to gather more wood. I don't even know what they look like! can someone tell me?[spoiler][/spoiler]

What level are you in? You do not receive these boosters until later in the game. Freezing time will be in the bar on the bottom... it will look like an hourglass. When the bar is full and the hourglass is highlighted, just click on it. Extra wood will be on the left. For quite a while in the game, you have no choice between getting extra wood or extra stone. When you receive extra stone, there will be a circle with two arrows on it. Click on that circle to switch between stone and wood.

I'm now on level 2 of the bonus round

OK. In this level, you now have all the bonuses. On the left are two... the left one you can click on to switch between running faster and pounding faster. The one on the right you can switch between getting extra wood or extra stone. In the middle is the bar with either running faster or stopping the timer. When the bar fills up to the hourglass, click on it to activate stopping the timer. On the right side are two more bonuses... you can click on them to switch between two modes on each one. Just hover your mouse over them to see what each does. They are the same thing - when they are filled, you click on them to activate.
