Hello my Boomer friends, hope you are all well and having a great day!

I was hoping I would have some good news by now regarding my other leg but unfortnately a bypass was not an option for me so I have had to have another amputation. I'm home now with my family, settling in and getting used to a new, challenging way of life. Many thanks for your past prayers and support, they lifted my spirits in the darkest of times. I WILL get there Boomers! Love you all.

Mary, that is not the news we were hoping to hear, but I pray that you will be able to adjust quickly. Will you be able to get prosthetics? Aw, shucks. Definitely not the news we were hoping for. I know I told you about my brother-in-law who didn't let his amputations stop him from doing everything he could! He was driving my husband around in the golf cart one day when we were visiting and apologized if it was jerky because of the prosthetic. My husband just laughed and said he didn't have any feeling in his right foot when he drives either, so it was no biggie to him!

Sense of humor and mind over matter, I guess!

Mary I am sorry to hear you have to endure another setback. With the support of your family and all of us here at GB I hope it will give you the strength and courage to overcome what lies ahead.

Dearest Mary, I am so sorry to read about all your heartache. I am just back in the Diner after a few years and didn't know how bad you feel. So I am sending now all my love, and pray everyday for you. Keep the positive spirit up. Big hugs from Switzerland!

Thank you all for your kind words and continued support, I really appreciate it. Life is certainly different for me now but I'm getting along just fine due to all my wonderful hubby has done to make things easier. I can access both levels of our house using the chairlift he had fitted while I was in hospital. I've not been idle, I can still use the washing machine and tumble drier using a grab tool to get to the clothes and I have been doing some cooking as the grill is at my level I can also still do the ironing as I have an ironing press on my dining table and my wheelchair fits right where I need it to.

Ana, I will still be able to get prosthetics but one at a time as I will need intensive physio to be able to use it due to a lot of muscle wastage. I was unable to walk for almost a year before my surgery and will have to learn how to do so again. It will be a long process but I'm up for it!

Drac, a sense of humour is necessary in my situation and I haven't lost mine!

Hubby and daughter took me out on Thursday to finish off my present buying and food shopping. Everything all wrapped up, I'm as ready as I'll ever be for Christmas. I will even cook our Christmas dinner!

Thanks again to you all, kind and lovely people. My heart (and eyes!) are full.
