Yes, 'The Longest Journey' was another seemingly endless conversation tree. I did enjoy the story, though, and feel the same way about 'Moment of Silence', so I'm planning on finishing to see what happens...

HI- I agree there is lots of dialog, but think it is necessary to keep the game going, at least that is how it is set up. Would prefer a little less, but all in all I really like the game. Just my 3 cents worth. Maggie

In my opinion the more dialogue the better. Loved TLJ and MOS. Dialogue furthers the game along, gives clues and gives you a real insight into the characters and what makes them tick. Give me heavy character interaction, and story lines any time. 1st person games with endless exploring and puzzles on top of puzles on top of puzzles bore me to death (all Myst types, ROTS, Mysterious Journey,Mysterious Island, Aura, etc, think you get the pircture). Give me the TLJ's, Tex's, Gabes, Syberias, Black Dahlia, Black Mirror, and MOS anytime.
Happy Gaming all, Bill

I'm really enjoying MOS. I love the dialog and strong story also and like Bill, much prefer the 3rd person games with lots going on.
I also like the 1st person games too, but the ones I enjoy the most have a lot of cutscenes or opportunities for dialog.

I agree, Beanbag. It isn't fun having to repeat conversations to get to the part you didn't ask yet. Most of the time the new question shows up with the highlighting but sometimes you do have to repeat to get to the new part.
I really like the game anyway though.

Happy Gaming all, Bill completely agree with you--bring on the 3rd person games with strong dialog. for me no such thing as too much talking/dialog in a quality game such as TLJ or TMOS.

It´s impossible to please everyone. MoS has a lot of dialogue - but with less people would complain about weak characterisations. I read in a dev diary that Martin´s notebook was physically damaged the night before the German voice recordings started. They lost the final draft of the script and had to use an older one. The dialogues are good. Maybe this final draft is what´s missing to make them great. A few lines cut here and there and some spit & polish can work wonders.

Mine isn't going anywhere either, Colpet. It's really a good game, imo. There are plenty of puzzles, a strong story with really good insight into the characters & good graphics & cutscenes. There are a couple of things I could nitpick about like poor translation sometimes and the conversation tree, but the conversations themselves made up for it for me. I think you'll like it also, JohnBoy. Melanie

Just to explain things a little here. I don't mind puzzles at all as long as they aren''t practically the entire game (like the other Myst types etc. I listed). If the puzzles forward a game that has a strong story line with heavy character interaction and relates to the game plot fine. Some of my favorite games had alot of puzzles and were tough but fitted the criteria just stated. Exmples of this are Black Dahlia (probably my favorite all time game), TLJ (who could forget tree communication??)and the Black Mirror.

Sorry, Llewton. I was only teasing . I didn't mean to pigeon-hole you. Black Dahlia is also one of my all time favourite games, along with GK 2 and 3. I played TLJ when it first came out and enjoyed it despite it being dialogue heavy game. I just take lots of dialogue and character interaction as a negative, but there may well be other redeeming features of the game for me ( story line and interesting puzzles ala Le Serpent Rouge ). Being a 1st person game is also a plus.
