Hello Boomers, seems all I do is ask for your prayers! I'm not long out of hospital again after a long spell. It started with a phone call from my GP, after I had some bloods done, to tell me my haemoglobin levels were very low and that he was arranging a hospital admission for me. After admission I was given 3 units of blood and started on a course of iron therapy. I was also sent for a CT scan to see if I had an internal bleed somewhere. They found a suspicious area at the top of the large bowel, which is not the cause of bleeding, following which I had to have a colonoscopy which confirmed a possible early cancer. I have to have surgery down the line to see what it is. Whether it's cancerous or not I will have surgery to remove the suspicious area. I also need to have a gastroscopy done to see if there's anything bleeding in my stomach. My head's in a whirl with all that's going on and I would be so grateful for your prayers and positive thoughts!

Mary, I'm so sorry to hear you have more health issues to deal with. When my friend had low hemoglobin count and all other tests did not find the cause, the doctor had her swallow a tiny camera that located the "bleed" area. It was amazing.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes, I really do appreciate them and am so very grateful for them. I'm doing okay though it's hard to keep my mind from wandering off on it's own sometimes! Hubby and kids have been great, really keeping my spirits up.

I have a problem with my stumps always being cold so Diana suggested using my favourite fleecy socks so I turned them round and put them on and my knees fit nicely into the heels....Voila! no more feeling cold!

My brother-in-law had the same problem with his stumps - or ENDS as he liked to call them! - getting cold all the time. My sister found some of his old wool hunting socks and turned them around to put his knees in the heels. Same thing... voila! No more cold ends! In the winter, he would get the little chemical hand warmers and put them in the toe of the socks and he would be toasty.

Hello Boomers, happy to say the gastroscopy went well and showed no bleeding anywhere in my stomach!
Still awaiting bowel surgery but have to have a face-to-face with an anaesthetist and consultant surgeon beforehand. I hope it won't be too long until it goes ahead. I have had a pre-assessment done which seemed to go well.

The problem I had with my amputation scar not healing has been resolved and it's all better now, I'm so pleased about that.

Would just like to thank you all again for your prayers and support over the last months, they were much appreciated.
