My sister called our parents yesterday after receiving a call from the wife of a cousin, my dad's younger brother was found dead in his kitchen. My dad was third son of four. On my mother's side there were 7 brothers. They are all dead now.

I am very sorry for your loss and that of your family, Guybrush. It is sobering and very sad when so many people you have known and loved are gone.

I'm sorry for your loss Guybrush. My paternal grandmother outlived all 12 siblings (I think that was the count), her husband (my grandpa), and her only son (my father).

My condolences, Guybrush. I know what it's like to lose relatives from a large family. My Mom was one of 8 who have all finished their lives. All we can do is take comfort in memories.

We buried my uncle Saturday, with military honors as her served as a 2nd Class Missile Technician in a nuclear submarine in US Navy.. Since he was a widower (never got over his wife's death years ago) the flag was presented to the wife of his oldest son. He was 70, 12 years younger than my father. A life long smoker he died of throat cancer. My father only one of the four to not smoke and only one to not get cancer.
