Mrs Cue and I cut Joseph's Pitas into triangular shapes and bake them. You can put them in an air fryer too. We dip them in salsa for a low calorie snack. Another thing that we like is mixing sugar free non-fat instant pudding mix with non-fat plain yogurt. Put some fruit in it for some instant deliciousness!
Did you ever stop to think and then forget to start again?

Variety is the spice of life, you’ll get tired of constant anything. Fruit, salsa and chips, pop corn, peanuts. Chocolate! Jello (don’t laugh, Island pineapple with well drained mandarin oranges is Killer).

what is good snack food, i want to cut down on my potatoe chips. What's your goal? Lower calories or more vitamins or something else. Are you looking for dry snacks -- something that can be a direct replacement for potato chips? Anything can be a snack, including a can of peas or leftover meat loaf, but for dry snacks there are nuts, popcorn, jerky, and chips or puffs based on vegetables other than potatoes. And of course there are fruits -- berries being something you can pop in your mouth.

For a snack for my not-yet-insulin dependent pre-diabetic husband, I make him baked cheese. You have to use real cheese, so they are high in fat, but are very yummy. What ever you do, don't use "cheese food" or individually wrapped slices. They are almost half water and it won't work. Line a cookie sheet with parchment baking paper. Break cheese slices into fourths. I get cheddar, jalapeno, Monterey jack, bacon and cheddar - any cheese slices that you like. Bake them in a 350° oven for 8 to 12 minutes. Each different cheese takes a different time. They should get all melty and bubbly and slightly brown. Take them out of the oven and let them sit for a minute and then place on a paper towel to absorb some of the fat. When they cool, they are really tasty!

Yes, oldbroad, it becomes crispy little chippy things. Some cheeses get crispier than others. You can also use shredded cheese mixed with seasonings such as dry Italian dressing mix or taco seasonings. Just make piles of about a Tablespoon of cheese. Some recipes call for a 375° oven, but my oven does better with it at 350°.
Geo, best of thoughts to you...

Not sure if anyone else suggested it. Popcorn, plain is best, or with Sea Salt. Good filler upper. It's one of those things that, even after a full meal, the smell of popcorn made me hungry again. Sadly, I can't eat it anymore; lots of things I still can enjoy.
Life's a puzzle; one piece at a time.
