You know, I'm not even sure if you have to do that association or not. I should have reloaded a save to check it further. On that third level the cards move around. With the cat eyes you can see "through" the cards I guess. Don't worry about remembering where they were positioned. Turn the cat eyes on before you start the third level and after the cards are revealed and then hidden again, just look close at the cards themselves. You should be able to make out the images of the four (demon) cards that you need. Maybe you can just select them in any order then. I'm not sure.

You probably can't save during the middle of the puzzle. This was the only frustrating part of the game for me, having to keep repeating those first two levels until I figured out that third level. And, trying to figure out what the demon cards were so I could give them a "name" so I could better keep track of them. I didn't have enough time to really look at them all in one shot. The first two levels do get easier though the more times you do them. I just remembered where two cards were and put my fingers on the other two rather than trying to write their positions down.
Don't rush yourself; there is no need to hurry. Just look at the outside of the cards and you will see the demons. You may or may not have to associate them with the animals (such as the lady and the fox). I did and that worked but maybe that was a fluke. I really don't know.
