People pick an avatar that they identify with--though sometimes its what they're like on the inside rather than the outside.

Well, I had some friends call me their Fairygodmother when I came to their aid in a tight spot, and the nickname stuck, so I took that as my screen name (without the O's), because at the time I could only have 12 letters. I do kinda look like that though. I'm a chubby old lady, with long grey hair that I often do up in a bun or knot.

Err.. well contrary to public opinion, I Don't have an orange and black striped tail...

BUT I was named Tigger at college as I always Bounced around the place, especially in the mornings.. never grew out of this habit and colleagues at work picked the same nickname for me

As to the real question I think most people pick an avatar that they wish they could be.Me I love to look like Moses.(Picture Charlton Heston) Parting the Red sea. Come to think of it I kinda do. Naw Just kiddin.

I do tend to identify people with their avatars and get a bit confused if they change them.

Emily, I identify you so much with your avatar that I can't play the sim that looks like you in my 'the sims' game because it feels like playing with a real person. Not very nice
