They are shutting down all our off leash dog parks (which I pay for and have a permit) because the CDC issued a warning about no one being a near a dog that isn't yours. I am a very, very, very unhappy camper. Ours is a 34 acre wild field that Nugget loves to hunt and run on daily. I have a lot to say, but will bite my tongue.

oldbroad, literally everyone is making them now! My tailor is selling them for 5 dollars each and just made 100 for my husbands company. I got a local lady to make me a pawprint one matching my dog walking pouch I carry. If you need some tell me.

I will certainly take my girl to run at other preserves and be a dog, but I shall be forced to do so illegally. I am fortunate that she is trained off leash and I'm not worried about losing her if I let her go in an open area. I just risk a hefty fine if I'm caught. There are many not in the same boat and their dogs will run away without fencing.

I'm assuming that is because some dog tested positive for the virus a couple of days ago, somewhere on the east coast I think. Also, a couple of cats tested positive.

Ana, I know a dog was recently diagnosed with COVID-19, but that's NUTS! I will also keep my very vocal thoughts having to with the deep end to myself.

Drac, I am wondering next if they will force us working in pet care to quit or do heaven knows what to protect the dogs and ourselves. I'm suffering from a very bad case of Tourette's (no...not literally) today so I have to go back to the naughty corner and be quiet.

Ana, is it just that particular park or just in your area? I haven't seen or heard any announcement of the off leash dog parks being closed, though I did see that in Lake County they are closed (Googled). The weird thing is that they are opening up pet grooming again though.

Trail, Nugget is used to mom getting episodes of "venting". She will nudge me to pet her when I do. She would be a great therapy dog.

Winfrey, Illinois leaves me lots to be desired on a good day!

oldbroad, I live in DuPage county. we kept all our parks open and they all remain open except now all dog parks are closed. We pay for them per dog.

ADORABLE! My husband says too it's been nice to have the dog and even the barn cats around for company.

Our cat has been a huge comfort to us over the last few years. She senses when we're down and comes for snugglies to cheer us up. I can't imagine not having a pet.

I read that today too! We've had the Asian Hornets here and they are huge and horrid. They chase my humming birds. But I these are even bigger and badder!
