Air Con isn't widely used in domestic properties here in the UK and so is very expensive to have installed. But I invested in it many years ago (because heat makes me extremely unwell) and I have never regretted it. I'm sure you'll find it will make a wonderful difference, hagatha

Even if you only use it when you really need it, you will be so grateful. Here in the midwestern US, it would be brutal without it. I just ran across photos of the hottest summer here in the 1960's. People were all sleeping outside in their yards because it was still over 100°F at night.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

People were all sleeping outside in their yards because it was still over 100°F at night. When I lived in Toronto I almost never slept in the summer, the heat was so awful. From about July to the end of September I would toss and turn and feel sick all day at work. Moving to Vancouver was such a relief.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

After the green bean picking and canning yesterday, I think I'm going to have a nice relaxing morning today! I'll take one of those crispy cinnamon bagels and a cup of Sumatra dark roast. Going to listen to the hummingbirds and drink my coffee!

For me this is going to be a do-nothing day, except for a ride on my bike, which has been languishing unused in the corner for a month. There's just been too much going on around here, what with the dryer breaking down and my husband falling and going into hospital and now having to manage all the medical stuff, not to mention housekeeping and the gardening. But today is strike day, where the floor will remain unvacuumed and the laundry unwashed.
So, yes, dark roast for me as I sit with my feet up on the couch with my Kindle.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good for you! I also went on strike today! The cat hair on the floor will just have to get another layer and no laundry will be done.
EDIT: Well, I lied. I couldn't stand it and went out and weeded one of the perennial beds!

I've been ignoring the gardening all year. We have a shared property with another couple (we're actually a duplex, though the place looks like one giant house), and it's a huge property, but they're gardening enthusiasts and we're only mildly interested. This year we've been paying them to take care of the garden. They like the extra money, and they get to do exactly what they want this year, so we're all happy. Plus, they always grow enough vegetables for ten people anyway, so we get that, too.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Sounds like the perfect arrangement to me, hagatha! I always tell people, "It's our job to grow it and your job to eat it!"
Have a bunch of tomatoes to deal with today. We were in the tomato forest to get any early ones and found one patch has worms. I hate to do it, but hubby is going to have to go out and spray them. Picked at least half a dozen big red tomatoes with large worms eating the tops away. Yuck.
So, I'll just have some of that Sumatra coffee this morning. As always, thank you, soot!
Enjoy your Thursday, everyone!

Oh, my, soot. That coffee sounds so good! I will definitely have some. Sitting here contemplating where I want to begin today. I'm thinking I'll head out to the tomato forests.

Sitting back with a Black Razz Berry sparkling water. The vet just left after taking some more blood from 8Ball. He does not have Cushings.. but the test revealed Insolent Resistance was really high so he had us not give any grain and took more blood a few minutes ago... he is still on the med's for cushings as it seems to be helping him.... (expensive little pill) If his test comes back with the levels high again we will have to take him off grain completely and just give him California Trace Plus and something new we are going to try as they both won't eat the Remission that is supposed to be for IR horses... Quiessence. It's got the magnesium & Chromium that he needs.... hope this works... will update when I get the new blood work back.... so long from horseworld.....

Sometimes when they are insulin resistant, you have to dry lot them. Nothing but grass hay. I had two like that.
