As I said, you are going to have a hard time finding anything with Windows 10 on it. If this concerns you, ask the seller if the computer can be updated to Windows 11. And talk to your IT guy to get his input on it.

Skytech is not a brand I'm familiar with. I would read some reviews and ask your IT guy. There is a reason he pointed you to all HP computers.

Can you provide links for those computers? They all look fine with the top ones being WAAAY too expensive. I'd like to see what kind of power supply they have. I forgot to ask if you need a WiFi adapter? Or are you wired to your internet?

My son has a Skytech gaming computer that he purchased from Amazon a couple years ago and his experience with it has been very positive.

That's really good to hear, Marian. I see the brand around at places like Newegg, but I'm just not familiar with it.

This is similar to the one he purchased. It was a good price, too.

I don't know if it comes with the TPM module that Windows 11 requires. The one he bought is a couple years old now.

I have been thinking about upgrading myself. I found this site, Origin , that gives you SOOO many state of the art options you can pick from to build yours or pick a computer they have already assembled. When choosing options you are interested in the progam will tell you if that option is not compatible with your previous choices and gives you a chance to make alternate choices with recommended options. This is a great site. Expect to spend some cash depending on your build, what you can live with and spend I guess. In the end you will get one hell of a system no matter how you build. They offer SLI configurations, dual+ hard drives, colorful decor, liquid cooling and on and on it goes. Good luck and enjoy your new comp however you do it. You just gotta LUV a new toy.... Thanks, Orion! Origin is indeed a great site if you want a high end gamer and have the money to pay for it. The place many of us here at GB have used based in the US is eCollegePC which allows you to put together a computer with as low end or high end components as you want. The issue here is that dorish is not located in the US, but in Canada. So we needed to find her a place in her country for a build or branded computer.

Well thats a nice site as well, thanks, almost related I would think. No doubt there are plenty of simular computer build sites out there. I will have to compare sites price wise.

One of the things this small PC building company has is customer service par excellance. They respond within an hour to any issues. I had one shipped to a friend that had a bad power supply. I had a spare one here which I installed for her, but they sent me the refund at the same time they sent the shipping label to send back the bad one - all within half an hour of me contacting them. Others here have had the same experience with their customer service. I think that's what sets them apart from the bigger places.

It comes with windows 10, but my IT guy says he can install 11 when the time comes. Anything's better tha to keep using my windows 7 LOL!

And a computer with these high end components may already be capable of running Windows 11. Mostly the deciding factor is this TPM 2.0 module on the motherboard. Trusted Platform Module. I checked and I DO have the option on my motherboard if I enable it in the BIOS. But I'm still so aggravated with Microsoft that I'm not planning on doing it until they stop offering it as a free upgrade. Right now, you can do it through the updates option.

And if you have any issues with getting up and running with Windows 10, please holler at me! I can do Windows 10 in my sleep.

Well, my new computer is now up and running. I also have my windows 7 hooked up, so I can toggle between the two. --2 sets of speakers and 2 mice, and the new computer has Windows 11. My IT guy also took away our laptops and is going to install Windows 11 on them too. His cost for setting up the computers was VERY reasonable. He was here for 3 hours----he also helped us with Skype problems on my laptop, and only charged $180.00 Canadian. I think that was a great deal, since he drove from downtown Toronto which is about 45 minutes away. So now I am a Happy camper.

I have just downloaded Riddle of the Sphinx the awakeining, and am using Mag's walkthrough. I have just started,so will have to wait and see how much the game has changed. I also want to play Syberia the World before, and then we'll see what else.
